I placed an order with Olds Performance Engines (OPE) on 18 Jan 23 for a performance Oldsmobile 350 CI Engine and paid a deposit at that time. 1 month later I added a GM 200r4 Transmission. I was promised an 8 wk delivery, at 12 weeks I was told the engine with accessories and the transmission with accessories were ready to ship. I paid the remaining balance.Order actually shipped 4 Jul 2023, 12 wks after final payment was made, 24 wks since original order. Order received incomplete, missing were the transmission and all accessories required to operate engine. After another 12 wks of promises but no delivery the necessary accessories were purchased locally so the engine could be tested. At first start, it was immediately evident there was a serious problem. After troubleshooting with ***** ******, brother of owner ***** ******, it was concluded the engine was defective. There were issues returning the engine to ****** and I was told twice, that a new engine would be sent and we would worry about the return of the defective engine after the new engine was received. It has also been discovered that the old engine is not only defective but also not built to the specifications promised and paid for. The deficiencies result in low performance and value. I want to believe it was an honest mistake and not bait and switch, because if the engine had run properly I would not have look ********* has been 32 weeks since the new engine was to be sent and 20 months since the original order. There have been 31 promises of shipment that did not happen, 3 promises of refund that did not happen. I have an engine that is not only defective but also may have been shipped knowingly defective at worst or incompetently built at best. Now OPE is demanding return of the defective engine even though there has been no shipment of other items paid for or further offers of refunds. Promises but no proof aa second engine build. Now they have gone completely silent.
