    No warranty…
    I had to replace my garage door, and called the ‘local business’. ** ***** **** **** ** **** ***** **** *** *** **** ********* They arrived promptly, installed a new door the next day. I did not watch them. Once the installer had finished, I mentioned the clunking noise, and was informed it’s fine. Within two weeks, the ‘clunking was less’, within the month, the bottom of the door was warped and pushed out, and the bottom seal was hanging off. I called them, and the ex-owner came out. He told me I had backed into it!! I told him in no uncertain terms that I had NOT! He was abrupt and left. I called the new owner, and he said he doesn’t know who to believe, as Bill was very experienced. I asked him to come out immediately and take a look. He agreed with Bill, and said he wouldn’t warranty it. He compromised and said he could install a new lower portion at cost plus labour. I was so upset, I told him I am not paying labour, as that would seem as if I had caused the problem! The new portion would be just under $500.00. I thought about it and didn’t go ahead. My son in law worked on it so that it wouldn’t look a mess. But this is the treatment an older widowed lady gets by shopping local. I think not. They did not mind taking my e transfer within a couple of days on completion of original installation. Very bad practice.
