      A purchase of a *************** was made in Nov 2019 & it was acknowledged that an extreme flaw in workmanship &/or material was discovered outside of the warranty period. We brought it to the attention of the store in July 2024. It was expected that a few down feathers would naturally escape from the ***************, thus, one or two feathers every now & then would simply be slipped back into the cushion. However, over time, the feathers were coming out in much greater quantity. Hence, in July2024, we opened up the seat casing to discover a MASSIVE amount of feathers have escaped. We were SHOCKED thus brought the cushion into the Richmond retail store (purchase location) to see what can be done. The *************** are not abused as seen by how well preserved the material were. Blankets were always used to protect the cushions. Usage was not subject to heavy or overweight people nor are their children or pets in the house. The sales associates were just as shocked to see the feathers flying everywhere when the cushion was brought into the store. As a matter of fact, the sales associates comment made was that is bazaar which we totally agreed. We were advised to contact H.O. for a resolution. We did & there were no solutions, no apologies nor compensation given (other than what we already knew we could do ourselves get everything re-upholstered!). It would be unreasonable to expect a refund, however, an offer to re-upholster the flawed cushions was expected given the manufacturer's obvious defective product.We requested the name of the CEO which was denied us. We proceeded to contact the other store owners on **************** who did respond & had forwarded our complaint to the person in charge of the Richmond Store as they indicated they had no decision-making authority outside of their stores on ****************. To date, we have not heard from anyone! This is disgraceful customer service given our loyal past patronage.

      Hello *****. I am aware of your situation as it was brought to my attention back in July when the Richmond store manager was speaking with you. It was acknowledge that there was a flaw in the sofa that had occured 3 years after the warranty for your sofa was valid. We had informed you that the solution to the issue would be to have some additional casing covers under the current cushions to keep the feathers in. With feather sofas there is often a high probibility that some feathers eventually escape. We informed you that unfortunately we no longer were ordering from that supplier and would not be able to get the covers done to the exact measurements and the best bet would be to contact and upholsterer. You are complaining about a product that is no longer under warranty and are expecting us to fix it for you. If it was possible for us to order the covers and get this done then we would certainly worked with you but we do not have the ability to do so. Your expectations of fixing these issues well after warranty is not how a warranty works.

      Very, very poor service. Called several months ago for service on rocking reclining chair. Technician came out to examine the chair and concluded and reported that very loud squeek in mechanism was caused by deteriorating base essembly. Technician filed a service report and ordered pick up, repair, and swivel part replacement. Chair was under warranty, but they wanted us to pay for the part. We went to the store and paid $250 for " complete mechanism for ""Divani RM325"". (AUGUST 13, 2024 ) Have made several phone calls since. Was given wild excuses each time, including ( "Technician injured his hand and was off work") Finally, they just fluffed me off. I am counting on readers of this complaint blog to let ScanDesigns know that their customer service is non existent even with warranty and paid for.************, ******* Bypass; and *************************** WHEN MY CHAIR IS REPAIRED, I WILL WITHDRAW MY COMPLAINT, OR SUBMIT FOLLOW UP TO THIS BLOG.
