    On April 14, 2020 I purchased a Certified Pre-owned Acura RDX from Lougheed Acura in *********, **. At the same time I purchased a 5 year extended warranty for $3066.00 paid in monthly payments. (SecureDRive policy ****** issued by **********************) One of the selling features of the warranty was that if no claims were made against the policy, I was eligible for a $1000.00 claims free refund. As I made no claim against the policy during the 5 years period, I requested the $1000 refund from the ***, the warranty issuing company. They rejected my request stating that as the car was Certified Pre-owned, the contract was for 36 months (not 5 years), and started once the factory warranty expired. To be eligible for the claims free reward there is a 4 year time requirement. (Presumably there were 2 years remaining on the original warranty of which I was not aware.) *** advised me to take the matter up with Lougheed Acura who sold me the policy. I have contacted Lougheed at least 5 times over the past few weeks and have been assured that the sales manager or general manager would get back to me. I have not heard from anyone.I believe that Lougheeds employee misrepresented the warranty purchase. If there were 2 years left on the warranty, I should have been advised of that at the time and would not have purchased the warranty. (I only drive 5000 kilometers per year). Since I did purchase the 5 year coverage and made no claims, I expect to get the $1000 claims free reward.
