Very nice people, unfortunately in less than a year there was highly visible bubbling. When I contacted the company, I was told at the outset that my house was old and the job would not be perfect. However, when the front columns are bubbling, that is an area that should have been prepped properly. What I had difficulty with is, that they were going to charge me for travel time to come and fix it, as well as labour and paint. Paint I understand, labour I found questionable as it was under a year, and the travel time I thought to be an outrageous cost. If you have a newer home and are willing to accept their quote, you will probably be pleased with their work. If you have an older home, perhaps you should consider another company. I decided to go with them, despite their quote being the highest quote as they painted a friend's house, who happened to be very pleased with their work. In her case, they came back to do touch *** without added costs. Her home is a newer home.

** are very sorry that this client is displeased with any portion of our work and we need to clarify a few points that were made without proper context.** started the work early July and completed the final walkthrough and deficiencies September 6, 2023 ** went back at the client "s request for further deficiencies on October 6, 7 and December 1 That was the last communication we had with the client , ** have not been or received any contact by phone , text or email since December 1, 2023 Please note the following Facts: This is the only complaint we have received through BBB since our original membership started with you and we have never received a complaint in the 43 years we have been in business ( other then this one ) The client has neglected to mentioned the following :- Her house is a heritage home built around 1920 and it needed a fair amount of prep work - Her work was not to be a restoration project but a simple paint project - Her house is about 3500 sqft . a house of that age has been painted a minimum of 10 times over 100 years. unless we were to remove all layers of paint and start from raw wood it was inevitable that some ongoing maintenance was to be expected after the completion of the work as the existing old paint would keep on failing over time . ** fixed what was visible at the time of the work . - we did not want to give the client any surprise and had a mutual agreement that all of the sanding and prep work was to be done via a predetermined time and hourly fee . once that budget was exhausted we did a n inspection with the client and she determined that additional time and money was to be spent of additional sanding of the bubbles. - ** had a budgeted amount of hours in the contract specifically allocated to the sanding and prep work of the surfaces . once that time frame was exhausted had a n inspection with the client and she opted to agree to an additional time frame to have additional sanding and prep work completed prior to us doing the painting . This is from our invoice notes: NOTE: At noon on july 22 we were at 14 total hours of sanding to date, client authorized us to do add an 10 hours ( or less) of sanding to the contract to complete the front , left side and back of the house. ** to be revisited on completion if additional work is required. *** added an additional 5.5 hours to this day , leaving 4.5 left of available time On September 6 we did our final inspection with the client , all was in order and she was very pleased with the overall look. we were paid our final draw, no issues she called us 3 more times to come back and do more deficiencies October 6,7 and dec 1. the deficiencies had to do with more minor paint bubbles so she was charged accordingly. she was not charged for any of the other minor touch *** that were part and parcel of a normal paint project. The client was told she would be charged for traveling time on the last few visit as the contract had now been completed and signed off on SEPTEMBER 6 and we had to drive from ********* to ********* to do further VERY minor touch *** . As for the front columns , ** power sanded , applied bondo, primed and applied 2 top coats to the two small 4 foot columns on 3 separate occasions . we spent a total of over 8 hours without charge to try to finish the surface to a level we would be proud of and at which the client was completely happy with. we sincerely thought that was achieved at the time. It's been 2 years since we completed that project . the client registered her complaint 2 days ago. and gave us 3 stars . we find that to be unfair based on the time elapsed and the size of the deficiency compared to a 3500 sqft home . ** would have gone back without any hesitation, if the client would have had the courtesy to reach out to us directly . we are a small family business, all of our work is referrals and we very much try to make all of our clients happy and 99.9 % of them are.
