I had Power Paving come and pave my driveway for approximately $******. **** had told us they would move our stairs. Once the driveway was finished, the **************************, said that the stairs needed to be modified. I asked how that could be possible when we hadn't seen the stairs against the home. The driveway was damaged by them placing them back. I called ***** to ask how we could get the driveway fixed since we hadn't even driven on it. He told me we needed to pay our bill in full, and then he would get around to fixing the driveway. ***** also told me that I couldn't be trusted. I simply want the job completed and the driveway fixed before I hand over our money for a job not done.

The paving work is ***% complete and the customer told us the job was beautiful.  Moving the stairs was not our responsibility.  The customer needs to pay their invoice.

On may 29th 2022 we hired Power Paving to redo our driveway at our home.It is over $****.00 and we are seniors and do not have extra money to waste.I contacted the company within 2 weeks telling them there were problems with the job. I was assured all was fine and to wait and if we had any issues for sure they would be corrected.A month later I contacted them requesting someone come and discuss the already cracking and eroding pavement. We made an apointment with the ****** of the crew that did the work specifically asking to speak to him in person which he did not.Several days later I found a business card tucked under the wiper blade of our car.He said when I phoned him he looked and it would be fine. The cracking and eroding has continued to get worse so I called him again specifically stating I want to see him in person, we made an appointment to which he never even called to say he wasnt coming.I emailed all the management of the company individually and have not had any response what so ever in 3 weeks now. When they quoted on it I was told that they would be putting two kinds of gravel under the blacktop and it would be done connecting to concrete blocks we have edging the driveway. There was no gravel put down at all and the blacktop is about 10 from blocks. When I questioned the gravel they said dont worry we put extra blacktop and the issue about blocks I was told that they were not straight. It was their crew in removing the old blacktop who put them out of alignment to begin with and I thought they were putting them back.I am ver frustrated by this whole job and to have it have serious cracking within 3 months is not at all right. We paid in good faith for a good job but did not receive the job or after service promised us.

I met with Mr. and Mrs. ********* at their home on September 6th.  I apologized for not letting them know that I had been off work for a while due to health reasons and for not having someone else from the company reach out in my absence.  They seemed quite relieved that I was there to help.  We walked through the job site and I acknowledged there were some issues that needed to be repaired by us and we agreed that we would try to find a mutually convenient time to do the repairs.  Power Paving agreed that we need to do these repairs at our cost and that we will make sure both parties are satisfied with the end result.  Sincerely, *****, ******** ************************** Power Paving Ltd.

After having our driveway paved originally in April 2021 , there was a pooling problem and Power Paving returned to remove the pavement and re-pave the driveway in May 2021. However, the outcome was the same. At that time we told Power Paving that there was still a problem and they said that they have a year warranty. They asked us to leave it over the summer and they would see if it corrected itself. We called in the fall of 2021 and he said he would come to assess but never did. After several calls to Power Paving, they promised to drop by to assess again. This again never materialized. We even suggested to come by and come up with a solution. We called them again today, and they made it clear that we are on our own to deal with the problem. This is unacceptable to us and not consistent with their initial statements throughout this process.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

In reading the response from ***, of Power Paving, he is correct in saying the material was poor, we do not feel that was any fault of ours.  When you hire a paving company
we left it to the professionals and expected them to know the quality of asphalt.
Even though our second batch still has sticks in it that our coming out and leaving holes In the driveway.
He claims he spoke with us the owners, weve only ever spoke with ******************* his estimator.  ***** guaranteed on the second round of pavement there would be no pooling according to *** and there is a warranty for one year.  He even said that pooling would be a liability.  We were never given the option of cement or drainage there was never any warning or discussion from ***.
This is the first we hear that the driveway needed more prep work. My question is, why would Power Paving have done this job when they knew it would be unsatisfactory?

Since the driveway has been paved the second time we the owners did install proper drainage to where the water was going to and is running.  The drainage is not the problem it is the puddle in the middle of the driveway that is there long after the rain.
If he came to look at the problem as he said he would 4-5 times he would see this.
The option of redoing the driveway is not what we want.  Last time they ripped out and repaved the driveway our sidewalk and gutters were damaged.  Now we have landscaped around the driveway.  We ask for compensation or a solution other than repaving.
In conclusion, we feel he is not honouring his warranty and his professionalism is poor.  We are not unreasonable and would have simply appreciated his opinion on a solution.

      Sincerely,

      ***************************

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Yes, we disagree with the companies response.  When we bought the house we where not responsible for the pavement that he is talking about and he may have talked to the builder but he never spoke to us, the part that we paid for was to make a u shaped driveway, recommended by *****.  Why would he talk to me about something I had no input in?

The other part where he said his ******* talk to us,  we dont even know who the ******* was.  ***** told us that there was a year warranty if there where problems. When we contacted *** several times to complain and sent him pictures, his response was, I will come take a look but never came and never said anything about that cement.  The only person who answered us is ***** and he knows the truth, whether he admits or not.  So now where do we go from here?  **** truth does not match ours.

      Sincerely,
