Working with them is the worst nightmare of my entire home-building process.I hired a company to remove five ******* fir trees after obtaining the necessary permits. Everything seemed smooth initiallythey arrived on time and started work. Since I was busy, I didnt supervise the whole time. By 2 PM, they had stopped, and one worker collected cash from me. Trusting them, I paid, but soon discovered serious issues.1. One of the felled trees, with a tree log diameter of 3ft and length of 20ft, was left resting on my neighbors fence, with about 3ft of the log extending into their property. As a result, my neighbor lodged a serious complaint and almost called the police and reported the issue to the city. The company just left without addressing it.2. Despite the severity of the situation, they delayed responding for three days after we asked them to fix it. During those three days, I faced immense pressure from my neighbor.3. The contract specified that they should cut the trunks into smaller sections so that our excavator could easily lift them onto a dump truck. However, they didnt do this and left five massive logs on my site. After multiple requests from my builder and me, they demanded an extra $600 to return and finish the job. When I refused, they simply hung up on me. To avoid delays in my construction schedule, I had no choice but to give in and pay.4. The contract also required them to cut the stumps as close to the ground as possible. However, they failed to do so. One ***** was left at nearly five feet high. Again, they only returned to lower it after I paid the additional fee.5. The contract also included the removal of three trees in the backyard, but they left without cutting them. ****** told me to ask the builder to use the excavator to pull them out.6. They didnt even bother cleaning up. The sidewalk and my neighbors garden were covered with fallen branches and leaves, and I had to clean everything up myself.Tall Timber Trees

Tall Timber Tree Services and Nursery has been in business for 30 years servicing the ************** and *************. Tall Timber has an excellent reputation, with client satisfaction in commercial, residential, utility and City contracts. It is their goal to work with each customers needs to a successful job completion. They would like to address the unnecessary obstacles and challenges, caused by their client, *****. ***** did not contact the office to update or convey any of these concerns. We are always open to working with our customers. Unfortunately, we were never given the proper opportunity to respond. There had been no contact from the homeowner, building contractor, or the excavator operator companies notifying Tall Timber of any of these concerns As Agreed, our workers arrived on time, prepared and ready to work at the site. ****** site was to be clear of any obstacles, including equipment, other than the trees to be worked on. When our crews arrived, a very large sized, heavy-duty excavator was in the center of the job site. The machinery inhibited the crews from starting work. The operator of the excavator was not on site or available to move the machine, causing delays to our start time.We tried very hard to accommodate ****** needs. As a result, the cost of doing business was more time consuming and expensive. The quoted job price is based on time, understanding obstacles, job plan, crew and equipment. Since we were unable to proceed as planned and agreed, Tall Timbers cost of doing business under these circumstances increased by $600.00. *****, agreed to this ********* quoted, all debris and wood were to be left on site. Clean-up and disposal of debris was not included and is not the responsibility of Tall Timber. The Excavator/Operator was to clean up and dispose of debris and wood. However, when ***** was facing challenges with his clean-up plan, the excavator operator and the neighbour, Tall Timber did everything possible to help mitigate. The excavator equipment was more than adequate to handle the size of wood. The operators skills and ability did not match the equipment potential. As always, when working with our customer, we offered to return with equipment and a qualified operator able to safely handle the larger pieces of wood. ***** denied our ******** summarize and address the 6 points, please see below:1. *********/operator was responsible for moving the logs and debris.2. ***** denied our offer of a qualified operator with equipment.Client did not contact the office to address concerns.3. Logs were cut into manageable pieces for clean up.Additional time, crew and equipment, due to circumstances caused by the customer, an additional $600.00 was agreed to.4. Stumps were cut as low as possible.5. 3 trees in back yard have been dealt with.6. Clean up was not included in the agreement of the job description on the quote.F. H.

I am responding to your review as follows:1. After the issue arose, both my builder and I contacted ****** *************) multiple times (I can provide call log screenshots) in an attempt to communicate and find a solution. However, the only two options I was given were: (1) If I didn't accept the extra $600 fee, my call would be rudely hung up; (2) They would come back to resolve the issue if I accept. In the end, to avoid delaying the project timeline, I had no choice but to accept.2. Regarding the issue of the excavator being in the work area: Before work began, my builder communicated with your team, and you never mentioned that the area needed to be cleared. This was a communication failure on your part. Additionally, this led to us having to arrange extra labor on the day to move the excavator, incurring additional costs to me.3. On the day of the tree removal, your team did not mention any additional $600 charge on-site. Instead, you left the job unfinished. It was only after multiple follow-ups from us, a few days later, that you suddenly brought up this extra charge. Isn't this essentially forcing me to accept it? Furthermore, you did not follow the contract termslogs were not cut into reasonable-sized sections, tree stumps were not cut to a reasonable low height, and the three trees in the backyard were not handled by your team but by us.4. Regarding the removed trees and debris, we agreed that they would be left on-site. However, debris was scattered all over the sidewalk, street, and even in the neighbors garden, and you made no effort to clean it up. As a result, we received complaints from neighbors and the city, and I had to clean up the mess myself. Additionally, many details were never written in the contract, such as the fact that you only accepted cash payments for some reason and refused checks.5. The fallen tree trunk was pressing against the neighbor's fence, and you told us to use our excavator to move it or even suggested that your team operate the excavator to handle it. Who would be willing to take on that risk? That tree trunk was extremely thick and heavy. If pulling it caused the neighbor's fence to collapse, damaged their house, or even led to personal injury, would you take full responsibility? Such an approach was completely unacceptable. The only viable solution is for your team to return as soon as possible and properly handle the tree trunk.Review fromScott P

5 starsTall Timbers head there estimation guys come out right away to have a look at all the work we had to be done. There is a large tree in our backyard that died in the heat wave last summer, and it was now about to collapse onto the house With the oncoming fall storms. A large tall maple tree had branches hanging way over the high roofline, and the large evergreen also extended out over the roof. A team of five came in with the bucket truck, chipper, stump grinder, chainsaws, trimmers, etc. Within 2 1/2 hours they had the dead tree out and stump gone, the maple and Evergreen trees trimmed up as needed, and all branches and the yard cleaned up, looking much better than it had when they first came. Nice work guys! Five stars. ***** ******* ***** ***** **
