My husband and I are first time homeowners. *******************, owners of Fernie Mechanical, came to install our furnace in May or 2023. Another local contractor referred our job to him.****** informed us that it was his job to apply for the permit and the rebate. He told us that it takes approximately 3-6 months for the rebate to come in. Now that the 6 month **** has passed since installation, I am questioning where our rebate is. I have actually been inquiring about this to him since the summer of 2023. He has since ghosted us.I called Fortis BC to inquire the where abouts of the rebate, they informed me that the contractors are unable to apply on the cuatomers behalf and that the customer with the fortis bc account that needs to make an application. They also informed me that the deadline for applying for the rebate is 6 ***** after installation. Becuase of this I am now questioning the rest of his work. I have called and texted leaving messages for him regarding this but he will not respond. I have called technical safe BC asking to confirm whether or not he had actually pulled a permit for our furnace installation and they have confirmed that he DID NOT. Another note. Now after 3 months of usage with our new furnace this winter, we wanted to change out the filter but have found that ****** installed the furnace so that the filter is butted up against the water heater and there is absolutely no way to get the old filter out and a new filter in...we have warranty on the instalation of the furnace fo up to a year after instalation but with him not answering us, there no way for us to get this issue fixed without paying someone else to do the job I seems. Issues:- We paid a licensed contractor rate for the proper installation of our furnace to find out;1. He didnt pull a permit for he installation 2. Our chance to apply for rebate for our new high efficiancy furnace has passed 3. Furnace instal needs adjusting and poses safety concern but contractor won't respond

My neighbor, **** into my sewer line, causing my basement to flood.Bravo restoration hired Fernie Mechanical to plumb a new bathroom for my house. I was a Bills a sewer lift pump April 2022. This unit was not fully established until May 2023. However, the installation was not done correctly, which led to nine sewer and water back **** I immediately had to shut down usage of my basement bathroom in May 2023. Fernie Mechanical came and established a line. I was good for a few months until the toilet stop flushing, and vehicle water overflowed on my daughter while having a shower.. this water, damage the new bathroom floor and still sits in the in-service sewer lift pump. This overflow or one of the numerous ones behind my washing machine due to an improperly established sewage lift pump flooded into my daughters new bedroom, damaging her brand new flooring. Bravo restoration ripped up this floor looking for water contamination. Damage most of it and said sorry.. Fernie Mechanical says the sewage lift pump is no longer under warranty and will not replace it. I ask how when the warranty should have just began in May 2023. My basement repairs cannot occur until Fernie Mechanical finishes their job correctly.

The sewage pump was installed in April of 2022.

There's a - 1 - one - year warranty on the pump from the date of install.

Mid-September 2023 I went to do a service call and discovered that the sewage pump had failed.

I am happy to install a new one at her cost but recommend she gets a local plumber to do the work as I'm 1.5 hours drive away.

I am rejecting this response because:
The pump was billed in April 2022 but never operated until May 2023 as all work not completed. It was never installed into the main line as pictures indicate and never told to use until ****** came to fix the improper installation on his companies part. I need a new pump that works !!!!

I have tried to attach 5 pictures but would not go through

    Sincerely,

Yes, it was billed in April 2022 and that is when the warranty starts - from the date of purchase - April 2022.

The fact that it was not used/operated until the following May 2023 was totally out of my control as the remaining work was to be completed by another company.

Its unfortunate that it has gone this far (BBB) but I have already done my best to communicate and explain and remedy what I could to the client.

Again, Im happy to install a new pump but it will have to be by the third party or the clients own - not my - expense.
