In Jan. 2022 there was a flood in my building and my apt. sustained water damage. As a result some replacement drywall and painting were required. ********************************** and ******* were contracted to carry this out.Drywalling #1: After witnessing the quality of work, the out-of-date methods used, and lack of cleanup and consideration that this was an occupied apt., I had concerns. Noone from ******* or ************* checked the work and ********* advised he sent a photo to the project manager instead. The work was not completed and I did what I could to fix the first drywalling myself. Drywalling #2: I told the project manager what happened and my concerns prior to drywallers returning. This time I took photos of mud slopped on tile/doors and piles of garbage/materials left in my apt. that I was actively living in. I spent an entire day chipping drywall mud off of tile. The work was not completed. The poor quality of the work, the damage caused by the drywallers, not completing the work, and the lack of cleanup and regard that the apt. was being lived in was of no concern to ************* and ******* project managers.Painting: As with drywalling, the painters showed up randomly and unannounced. By then I had begun some painting myself and had primed and painted the dining room walls and ceiling and primed the living room walls. The painter was to paint the rest of the ceilings, paint the living room walls I had already primed, prime and paint the bedroom walls, and prime/paint trim/doors. Primer + 2 paint coats on all drywall/surfaces. As the scratch test photo demonstrates, the work was not completed properly. Drywall was not primed and the paint is lifting from lack of adhesion. Also only one coat of paint was applied. As with drywalling, here was no checking on work and no accountability for painting.******* has caused extra repair work needing to be done now and cost me more $ to fix the bad painting along with the other never completed work.

The date of the transaction was August of 2022. I paid a total of about $180 per month for approximately 5 months. The business committed to honouring their insurance policy that I purchased for the whole duration of the storage rental. The nature of the dispute is that someone broke into my storage unit, stole my items, damaged other items and ***** will not honour the insurance policy with Sedgwick. The business has not tried to resolve the problem. *** ******* ** ******* **** *** ** ***** **** ***** ******* ***** ** ************ ******* *** ****

    Business Response

    Date: 03/05/2023

Thank you for notification of your concerns in regards to your loss suffered on November 16 2022.   Our office is required to apply the policy wordings provided by the client and determine if there is coverage available for the loss in question. Unfortunately as there is no external proof of forced entry into the unit in question, as clearly stated in the policy wordings, and there is no supporting video evidence we will have to continue to respectfully deny the claim.  Our decision has been communicated to you previously in writing. We regret being unable to assist you  further in this circumstance.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Sure there is proof of forced entry, they broke open my lock and left it on the floor of my unit before making away with my belongings.

    Sincerely,

    Dave Grima
