Under the instruction of our general contractor plumber was asked to quote out a job. His quote for all plumbing related to the addition we were building was as follows $8625 for the addition and he also added a price for some other plumbing work within our laundry $3450 which at the time we agreed to as he scared us into making us think the city would force us to complete the work per his assessment. The General contractor completed all ground work and plumber laid his rough in, general contractor backfilled. Being generous the plumber was on this portion of work for 2 days. Due to scheduling and personal reasons (plumbers end) there was around a 6 months gap prior to starting the above ground rough in. We had to delay the laundry clean up plumbing from the scope of work due to financial constraints on us and from there plumber seemed uninterested to complete the work. Failed to turn up on the scheduled start date and eventually agreed to part ways. I had to pay to change the permit and had to complete the work on my own and at my own cost. plumber was paid 50% of the total cost upfront equaling $5250 Both my general contractor reached out and myself reached out to discuss a refund as 50% of the work was absolutely not achieved I was simply told laying the underground waste pipe equated to $5000. There is a better breakdown in the attached within the emails we have both sent. Since June I have been unable to to make contact. I am willing to go to small claims over this but in an ideal word, plumber honestly assesses what he completed and we agree on an amount we both feel fair. Per the attached from our general contractor $3000 seemed a fair amount but again plumber has made no attempt to reply to this mail or counter this.
