On June 11th, 2024 I took my 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 pick up to TireCraft for new front tires and a wheel alignment. When I came back for my retorque the next day, one of the employees pointed out that they had let me drive my truck home with 2 missing lugnuts the day prior. He said this was unsafe and then TireCraft proceeded to try and charge me another service/labor fee to have the 2 lugnuts put back on my tire. I ended up taking my truck elsewhere for this because I was disappointed in their service and lack of communication. A couple months later (Sept. 2024), I noticed that my front tires were wearing out extremely fast (the new tires that I had just purchased from TireCraft in June). I took my truck to a different shop and that shop not only had to sell me new tires, they also had to re-do my wheel alignment, plus a lot of other front end work due to TireCraft doing a poor job of my wheel alignment the first time around. The new tires + front end work at the new shop has cost me a total of $3,799.35 all because TireCraft didn't do the job correctly in June. I have proof of receipt from the shop that had to fix my truck after it was seen at TireCraft. The front end work that had to be done is as follows: CV Axle, New Tires, Wheel alignment, Brake pads and rotors, and Lower Ball joints. I was told a lot of this work could have been avoided if my wheel alignment was done correctly the first time. (in June). I am seeking a refund from TireCraft as they did not do the job correctly in June **************************************************** repairs because of their poor quality work.

    Good Afternoon,

I am writing in response to a complaint that was filed through your organization. I have included the alignment report from when we completed the work on the vehicle in question. As you can see from the attached file, the alignment was completed to within spec. Our mechanic is a 40 year journeyman tech, all ball joints and suspension components were checked for play before we could complete the alignment. In the ******km of driving that this vehicle did after it left our shop, nobody can say what type of incident could have happened to this vehicle to cause the ball joints and cv axle to need to be replaced. One large impact in a pot whole or off a boulder could cause these to fail. As well, the complainant is seeking a refund for the amount paid for the 2 used tires that we installed. Which we sold for $50 a piece. On the invoice from Discount Tire and Auto, the new tires were $480.48 a piece. $50 for ******km of driving is an acceptable amount of longevity, so I don't see the issue there.

I would also like to bring in to question the fact that the name on our invoice does not match the name on this complaint, or the name on the invoice from Discount Tire and Auto.

Please feel free to contact me with any further questions or actions,

I am rejecting this response because I did not ask TireCraft to cover the cost of the repairs that needed to be done on my vehicle at Discount Tire. I asked for a refund on the wheel alignment because it clearly was not done properly if my front tires wore out the exact same way as when I brought them to TireCraft. A wheel alignment should not have to be done every few months, and should especially not wear out tires so severely and so quickly. I pointed out to an employee that day that my truck tires still looked "toed-in", even after the said "wheel alignment" and I was merely brushed off. If I, as someone who is not a mechanic, can notice/see that with a naked eye, then it is surprising and disappointing that your mechanic did not care/notice and I was not taken seriously to have it re-checked before leaving your shop.

    Sincerely,

    Matina

As I showed in my previous response, the alignment on the consumer's vehicle was completed to within spec. The report clearly shows this, so I don't really know what else there is to say. The complaint is seeking refund for the alignment, used tires and the change overs to install the used tires. In the interest of ending this dispute, we are willing to credit the consumer the cost of the alignment which was $169.95.

    Thank You
