More detailed description available, going to do my best. Recently had 2 injectors replaced in our truck, the mechanic did this through mobile services. The valve cover was off at least 3 times, the final time was replaced, it was done incorrectly, causing the vehicle to loose all of its oil on the highway. After being told said vehicle was good to go. The vehicle was looked at before we left for our trip, and it was asked if the drip it was having was oil, was assured it was not due to the previous leak from a split o ring caused by the mechanic as well, which he fixed that night. 155kms after leaving their shop, we had a mass loss of power and ended up on the side of the highway, with the truck leaking oil very badly, diagnosed it was coming from the valve cover, which was not seated correctly, causing the gasket to leak oil. After waiting 12 hours on the side of the highway, to be towed to our destination, the gasket was fixed by myself, the truck was towed back to said mechanic to go over the system, which was not done well, truck was released, sill coated in oil, not really gone over being told it was fine even after the mass loss of oil. They did not admit to not putting it back together incorrectly. Not until they were made aware they were the last people to have hands on it before we left, we tried to reach out to the mechanic again, stating due to the fluid lost, we felt he should be replacing the starter, because it failed shortly after, as he also had to bang on it due to him not hooking a fuel pump up correctly before we started cranking the truck after injectors were installed. He would not do this unless we provided parts, even though at this point the amount of money spent on the lost fluids and new gasket, were not equal to the amount the starter and his 20 mins of time would be. He stated they would not be doing more work to the vehicle. We it asked for that to be replaced as a fix for the lost money on fluids and gasket. Better description avai

A technician went to the customer's house on their own time at the customers request, and diagnosed the truck not starting, spent over 15 hours labour time between multiple trips to diagnose the issue, remove and replace a turbocharger at the customers request and supply and replace a Fuel pump, a fuel injector, fuel injector O rings as well as repair a faulty fuel tube pickup in tank. after initial repairs were made the customer refused a test drive and proceeded to drive the vehicle on ****km trip, the customer lost oil on the road, self diagnosed an apparent issue, the truck was then towed to our shop and our technician promptly repaired once again the non-running truck for no cost. the customer was dissatisfied with the attempted reparations even though the truck was picked up from the shop and driven for 3 days without incident afterwards. the customer then texted and said she had a separate issue with the starter motor and requested that we replaced a starter motor that she initially said she would supply. after chatting back and forth over text and phone it was agreed that we would replace the starter (customer supplied) with no additional labour costs. the next day we received a text that the customer had changed their mind and demanded we purchase a starter motor and install it. due to breaking the agreement and with us not having any additional payment towards parts we had supplied originally, we declined any further action.

AH Repair has made no invoice nor requested any payment for services rendered or parts supplied. The Customer gave the technician $600 of their own volition, although our technician is out of pocket $945 for parts. AH Repair LTD is not responsible for any cash dealings between their technicians and customers when work is done privately off premises. AH Repair LTD out of good will, repaired the truck on their own dime after is was towed to the shop after the vehicle was run out of oil due to driver negligence as the customer had texted the technician saying it had an oil leak yet still proceeded to drive the vehicle anyway. AH Repair would be more than happy to offer a full refund to any customer under reasonable circumstances with an original invoice and payment to AH Repair LTD.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
There is false information given by the business.

The vehicle made it 155kms before it lost all it's oil, the message I had sent to the technician was from the side of the highway, informing him that it was leaking very badly, at that point we were stuck, and waited 12 hours for a tow.

I was never informed of cost for the repairs, never told labour was not being charged or that said technician was doing the work on his own time. I personally was helping the technician by taking things apart before he arrived so that the job would also be easier for him. Therefore alot of his labour was on me.  We never spoke of a bill, a** he stated he wanted to finish the job before he came up with one. The job took alot longer than he and I anticipated, as we seemed to be chasing problems in the beginning, and there was a large lack of communication. The technician also never informed me that they do not deal with cash outside of their shop, when I provided $600 to him, as stated. That seems a bit odd as they are also a MOBILE mechanical service, I'm sure many people give cash payments. As I said we never spoke of cost so we did this to try and pay for some of the parts that were put in, he gladly accepted. I understand it was my fault no should have asked for a receipt at that time but did not as I thought the business was trustworthy.

What I am requesting is $300 back, due to lost fluids, cause by a improperly places valve cover, the technician put on. The vehicle would have not lost said oil if it was placed correctly.

Once the truck did go back to their shop, he did not check to make sure it was not leaking anymore, he did not go over the valve cover, the vehicle was still covered in oil, so there was no possible was to see where a leak was coming from (as it still dropped 5qrts after the fact) He did nothing to fix the actual problem he had caused. The truck was only driven, because at their shop, we were given the green light after an O ring was replaced and they confirmed it was only *************** from the fuel filter housing due to being driven with no o ring, and it we were informed it would burn off as we drove, therefore we believed there would be smoke, and there was. This being said we did not think much of it because of what we were told when the truck was smoking.

Once we did check to see what the problem was, it was 155 kms from their shop, as the truck did not show problems until the very end when it shirt itself down due to very very low oil. We did not take said vehicle on a ****km road trip as we could not even make it that far.

As stated, all we are requesting is $300 back to cover the cost of oil that needed to be replaced due to the vehicle not being put together properly. We would have not had to replace the oil, as of yet if this was done correctly.
    Sincerely,

AH Repair LTD has purchased a significant value of parts (receipts available upon request), that are currently installed in the customers vehicle, than the 600$ we were given with a large amount of labour unnacounted for, and due to reparations already  made, we will not be issuing any refunds in this case.
