I brought a vehicle to Glenn's Automotive on the 18th of May 2022 for a check up and oil change as the vehicle has sat through the winter. I drove it to the shop, and it was in perfect working order. I later received a phone call from a young employee stating there had been an incident when the mechanic took the vehicle for a test drive, and that the wind had caused the hood to fly up while driving. As they did not have a manager there at the time, I was told that I will need to file a claim with **** (which I was told by **** was wrong, as I did not have the car in my possession). When a manager arrived a week later, the story I was told had been changed and the hood now blew up while the car was stationary in a parking lot. The only way this would be possible is if the mechanic did not properly close the hood, which the shop claims they did have a problem with however they did not take any steps to avoid any incidents happening after being unable to close the hood.

The vehicle has now been written off by **** due to the incompetence of the shop, during a period where used car prices are at the highest they have been. The amount of damage caused by the shop is mere hundreds of dollars more than insurance will pay, and I believe they should be responsible for this damage. If they had not changed the story about how this happened after I received my initial phone call, this would not be such an issue.

    Hello,

I apologize for the late response, I have been quite sick the last few days.

I received a claim from ****, but the claim has not been settled as of yet. No work has been done on the car, and there has been no final settlement reached.
