    I hired Elite Kitchens and Bathrooms to provide a laminate countertop in my kitchen.
    Their installer, Bruce, installed the countertop on February 16th 2023. He chipped one side and the cut the other side for the kitchen sink to be installed. I offered a template that came with the sink as a cutting guide and he refused.
    The Plumber came and installed the sink the next day, February 17, 2023. I did not move in until February 25, 2023. After moving in and putting away many boxes I discovered there was a chip on one side of the countertop. On further investigation, I realized that the cutout was too large for the sink.
    I called Elite and informed them of this and they sent out he same installer. He simply hit the sink with his fist to move it.
    This will not solve the problem of a countertop cutout too large for the intended sink. The sink will still move and it will still leak if the chips in the countertop come to the side. Also the rubber gasket has very little to seal to.
    Elite will replace the countertop but not the cost incurred because of a plumber having to remove and reinstall the sink. I have tried to solve this problem with Elite, offering to accept their plumber if they provide the ticket number and insurance. In a strata it is necessary to have a licensed and professional plumber for the work due to insurance concerns. It is a requirement.
    They have refused. I do not want to pay my plumber twice for Elites mistake.
    If they agree to pay for my plumber to remove and reinstall the sink in the countertop, i will pay the remainder owing to them.
    If they refuse i will have to have another company do the work and i will bill them for the difference,
