      I paid Alberta BC Movers to move my belongings from where they were packed in a home in rural Alberta to Vancouver. Initial contact was with Walter P******** on Nov 22 2022, and move happened on December 19 2022.

      The moving company sent one person in a truck to move everything. Packing was rushed, and items were not properly tied down. Several items of both financial and emotional value were damaged, with signs indicating that they had been bouncing/rolling around in the back of the truck. Items included an expensive garbage can, stereo, record play, speakers, antique trunk. The value of the items likely met or exceeded the value of the entire move.

      I contacted the company about resolution on January 22nd once I'd fully moved in and inspected items. They were unconcerned but agreed to look into some insurance coverage. Since then I have been unable to contact them or receive resolution. It's currently March 28.

      Hi *****,

      we have again reviewed your move and we do not insure items that are not boxed. Packing services were available, but declined. Electronic like turntables should be packed properly. 
      All of this was discussed at the time of pickup. 
      thank you again for bringing this to our attention and we will ensure other move’s have the same help to ensure there items are protected. Ultimately its the customers responsibility to pack items properly or pay for packing service.

      I am rejecting this response because:

       

      None of this was discussed at the time of pickup, there was no consultation on packing at all and no refusal of packing service.   Also, damage was done to items that could not be packed or should not have needed to be packed such as large speakers, large household garbage can, and antique trunk.  Damage was also done in some cases to packed items. Items clearly were damaged due to shifting and rolling in the truck because they were not secured properly.
