Last year my can-am spider battery needed to be replaced. I purchased a battery and installed it. The bike started having issues. I took it in and the battery was tested. They said it was fine, but the bike still was having issues and returning to limp home mode. I was working extremely long hours and the bike wasnt going to be insured so i left it to the spring when the bike needed to go in for oil change. Last week it went in for a second recall and to chance the battery issue. May 7 the mechanic called me in the morning arguing that the battery had a hole in it and it was not seen the time they checked it in august. I had to buy another battery. And install it. 500+ dollars later, i returned to speak to the service person who advised the mechanic was known as ** grumpy. But they were convinced the fuse relay and battery were working fine. They tried to blame the tow truck driver for the damage to the battery but the tow truck driver did not touch it when it was towed. Tow truck driver removed the fuse box and plugged it back in, the bike had power to be turned on. 45 minutes after getting the bike back from the shop. The bike had the same issues. The bike went dead, I had to pull the fuse box out and put it back in. I drove it home. I texted the business who said they stand by the battery but the bike is not working. They claimed the tested the fuse box relay and it was working. I am left wondering if they did the recall work, and concerned for my safety and safety of others if the bike is driven. The bike isnt working and their excuse is my expectations are too high and to find another shop. They offered a refund and a call from the owner but that has not happened. I informed them of this complaint and they offered me to attend and get the refund on my ***** I would like an official assurance that the recall was done and a full refund for the work they claim was done this time. They are also the only Can-am dealer in the ***.Business Response

I have included the Repair order to show that we performed the warranty update and oil change, unfortunately the battery situation is an intermittent problem and when we had it here at the store we could not replicate the problem after restarting it multiple times. It was running when it was picked up and failed shortly after. I understand that ***** was upset and I understand why she would be. My service department gets a pile of 5 star ****** reviews and they can usually make our service customers happy but the response of taking advantage of women and that my mechanic should be fired was a bit over the top. I decided the best thing moving forward as this problem with her bike may take some time and money to fix properly and if she thinks we are just taking advantage of her this will never have a good outcome. I am happy to credit her the money for the battery then she will be able contact other Dealers in the province that will be able to help her with her electrical problem.

I am rejecting this response because:there are no dealerships in my area that are not connected to this group. I would have to take my bike to the middle of the province or ******* to have it serviced if theres a recall. Theres already been two recalls. For the shop to say we understand why she would be angry, but we reject that she feels taken advantage of is not a good enough excuse or justification for failing to do the work. They were told about the issue. They said they tested things. They clearly did not address the issue because it happened 45 minutes later. Failing to take responsibility for not being able to service a vehicle that they sell. They sold it to me with 0 km a brand new vehicle. It only has ****** km on it and their answer is we dont feel like taking responsibility so shell have to go somewhere else And somewhere else means half a province away that is unacceptable. It isnt just about the refund. The refund is appreciated since I do have to spend money to get the bike properly fixed somewhere else and that refund should have been made immediately because they chose to rely on the fact that they have a couple of five star ratings, but they did not handle this situation properly and they should be held accountable for that.
Sincerely,
***** *****Business Response

There are Dealers that would be happy to help you in *******, ********, Ladysmith and *********. Just call ***** or Declan in the service department and they will credit your credit card the $500 plus for the battery, Now you have a free battery on GVP and hope that helps with the idea that we were taking advantage of you because that was not our intent,Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: if you look at the mirror tone of this persons answer, its clear as to what I have been dealing with. The fact that they think its acceptable to drive across the province because they simply dont feel like addressing the issue. A refund is great, but it does not address the issue. I reject this answer. I reject the antagonistic disrespectful, complete degrading response and I am very close to taking these responses to the news.
Sincerely,

ecently purchased a 2021 *** ** ********* *** *** from GVP in Langley. The salesman was Andrew. The ATV was a “demo” model That Andrew said his wife used at the cabin and that it had 10 hours on its display. I rented a U-Haul trailer to pick up the ATV and when I got there The ATV actually had 450 km on it. I purchased the ATV and paid with taxes $10,462. I had to travel five hours to bring the ATV to its location. I had someone with experience to check over the ATV and discovered it was full of scratches bent rims on the tires a hole in the back tire a missing latch on the trunk as well as the engine made a tinny sound. On top of all that they refused to give me a six month warranty which I am currently in the process of fighting for. I contacted the salesman Andrew to advise him of the issues with the ATV and he kept claiming well it’s a demo model. He gave some story about the rims supposed to be bending like that as opposed to cracking. He said he did not know about the hole in the tire but the ATV was supposed to have been serviced and checked over by their service department. In addition the trunk was all dirty inside covered in sand which was not cleaned. Andrew got all flustered on the telephone and said I could bring the ATV back and I would get a full refund. However it took five hours as well as costs to rent a ****** to get the ATV so I would of been out money had I returned it. I requested a discount on the ATV and Andrew refused. And you take a TV only cost about $1000 more and then when I advised Andrew of that he said oh well you can’t get them. So they’re marking up the prices on old used ones because of the stock shortages.Unfortunately there is no regulating company to regulate sales of ATVs like there is for car dealerships. This is really shady business practises. Want some money refunded or to return the ATV and dealer covers all return costs.Business Response

Hello,
****** contacted us to purchase an ATV that she was going to be giving to a friend. She was explained to that the only machine we had in stock was a demonstrator machine. At the time she was happy to be able to get a machine due to machine shortages. When she came to pick up the machine everything was good. We did a walk around on the machine i helped he load the machine into her trailer. Our business office explained due to the machine being a demo the warranty was expired she had the option to purchase either OEM (BRP) warranty of an aftermarket warranty of her choice. She said the machine should come with warranty, we explained if she would like to preorder a machine it will take 2 months and she can have a new one with warranty. She decided to continue with the purchase and take delivery.
She called the tuesday after delivery and said there was a plug in a tire. I appolgized that we missed there was a plug in the tire and I purchased here a brand new tire to replace it, and offered to install it for free if she brought the tire and rim to our shop. She declined and wanted some free parts and accessories. I apoligized and said this was not an option, and if she was not happy with her purchase I would offer her a 100% refund, She declined. The machine is questions comes with Steel wheel, not alluminum wheels. The reason the come with allumin is a price effective option. the lip can get small bends in them from hitting rocks while riding, but it is a cosmetic issue not a strutural. Again she was offered a full refund if she was un happy with her purchase
MSRP on the machine she purchased was $11865 plus tax. Our cost on the machine is $10720 before tax. She paid $10462 saving here $1400 on the machine before tax , $1568 after tax. All of this was exlained in detail to her. She asked why it said 10ish hours then 450KM. in the ATV world we run off of engine hours as that is the service intervals. you do an oil change at 50Hours not a KM marker as you can do alot of fast trail riding, or slow farm use. This was also explained to her.
I have explained all of this to ****** several timesand she just comlains to another governing body when she does not get an answer she likes.

I am rejecting this response because:this business specifically advised me that the ATV was used by Andrews wife at their cabin. It was later discovered that the ATV had been used by numerous people and driven the crap out if. I was NOT advised about any non-warranty until I had come to pick up the ATV with a ***** thst I had to pay for. I don’t know much about ATV but I was advised that it had been FULLY checked and serviced prior to me picking it up. When I picked it up it was all dirty and not even washedI drove the ATV on the ***** over 5 hours away. My acquaintance looked at the ATV and noticed the plug in the tire and the ATV engine also made this horrendous noise and still does. I called Andrew and told him about the tire and the engine noise. He was unprofessional and not helpful. He said the engine was SUPPOSED to make that horrible noise and he said he would replace the tire. He said I could bring the ATV back and I asked if he was going to pay for the ***** snd gas to return it as I had taken it 5 hours away. He said No. I was in no position to bring the ATV back 5 hours snd pay for another *****. I did not ask for any free stuff as Andrew claims. I would not want any junk that comes from their store I wanted the ATV warranty as it should have come with one. The ATV was on display at a hockey tournament and I was not able to pick it up until a certain date at which point the warranty expired. Andrew was not honest and was very deceptive when he told me his wife only used the ATV. He was taking advantage of a woman making a purchase. I would have waited 2 months for a new ATV but they said it was much longer.
If the business doesn’t want to stand behind their product or provide a warranty they can be rest assured I will take them to small claims court for anything that goes wrong with it in the first year. I am so sick of these companies that are only out for money and not to provide customer satisfaction. As for making complaints to numerous places this is the first formal complaint I have lodged at this time. There are NUMEROUS negative reviews about this company and had I done my due diligence beforehand I Never would have purchased from them. With their unprofessionalism and poor customer service I don’t anticipate they will be in business much longer. Very shady business practices.
Sincerely,
***** ****
