Bad rust repair They ignored option we spoke about and did more expensive option replacing the metal. Within a year , rust had formed . Started as bubbling under the paint. Spent $7,000 total estimated on the job. Had other issues as well such as finding damage to vehicle. Had to go back and wet sand and polish.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 23/05/2025

    On June 24, 2024,

I brought my Electron Blue Pearl vehicle to ****** Auto Body. I chose Mikes after visiting multiple shops due to his clear explanation of rust repair risks

    Two options were presented:
1 A more costly repair involving cutting and welding
2 A less expensive method, which I specifically selected and confirmed with the receptionist upon drop-off

I chose Option, explicitly telling the receptionist.

However, when I visited the shop a week later to retrieve some personal items, I discovered they had gone ahead with the more expensive repair without notifying me or obtaining my approval.

The vehicles paint was well-matched, but the surface had a pronounced orange peel texture. After repeated phone calls and emails, **** eventually corrected this with a wet sand and polish at no charge. Unfortunately, new visible trunk damage appeared afterward, which **** did not acknowledge or take responsibility for.

    Major Issues:
Lack of Communication and *****************start="1443" data-end="1446"> The business proceeded with the more expensive repair option without my knowledge or approval, despite clear verbal instructions.

    Paint Quality Problems:
    - The initial repaint showed significant orange peel texture.
    - While this was later corrected, it should have been done correctly the first time.
    - Other professionals assessed the finish and stated it did not meet industry standards.

    Interior Negligence:
    - A scratch was found on the passenger dash (which I was able to remove).
    - The interior was used for part storage, and a rubber mat was misplacedonly found after I raised the issue.

    Incomplete Paintwork:
    - Discoloration on the rear quarter panel suggests the paint coverage was not thorough.

    Customer Service & Rust Return:
    - Less than a year later, rust has reappeared in the treated area.
    - I emailed **** with photos requesting details on the process and repair optionsno response was given.

Rust has returned in the same area that was supposedly treated. This is my primary concern. To date, I have not received a professional follow-up or explanation regarding the process used. The shop is denying responsibility and not engaging in a resolution.

    Requested Resolution:
    - I am requesting one of the following:
    - A refund to cover the cost of the flawed paintwork, labour, and materials, as well as correction of the recurring rust issue

    OR
    - I am open to discussing other fair and professional resolutions to rectify the situation.
