On Saturday July 23rd I was traveling from Salmon Arm to New Westminster. When I got to Merritt my car broke down. I called a few shops and they were all busy , however Canadian Tire said they could get me in sometime that week. As I had to get back to work in Vancouver, my parents traveled from Vernon to lend me their second car. Later that week Canadian tire called and a belt was broken due to a broken air compressor.. They said they would need to replace both and I agree to that. On August 3rd they called to say my car was ready and I said I would be able to come get it on Saturday. My father called to confirm and they said they had driven the car around and it was working great. On Saturday August 6th I traveled to Merritt in my parents car to pick up mine. My parents also traveled from Vernon in their other car so that they could drive the one I borrowed home. We arrived at Canadian Tire in Merritt at about 2pm. I paid 1600$ and they gave me the keys to my car. I started my car and realized the air conditioning wasn't working. Also my car started to overheat right away. My dad got the mechanic to come out. He looked at it, said he didn't know what was wrong and went back to work. We assumed he had gone to get us help but he hadn't . After waiting about 30 minutes in the hot sun we went and talked to the receptionist. She said no one could look at it before Tuesday. It was now 4pm so we went and got a hotel. My car was undrivable so I had to take my parents car once again back to Vancouver and they went back to Merritt.

My General Manager spoke to ******* last week and advised her to have the car towed to the Vernon Canadian Tire and we will warranty the work.   I believe it was determined that was the closest store to the customer.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: although the work was finally done on the car, there has been no refund for the travel expenses we incurred do to the business telling us my car was fixed when it actually wasn't . I drove all the way from New Westminister and my parents from Vernon.  This was a total of 11 hours of driving because ** *** ************ ** *** ***** ** not actually check my vehicle to make sure it was working before they told me to drive all the way to Merritt.

    Sincerely,
