**** took my truck to Fraser River body and paint for repairs in the middle of August 2022
my truck sat there till the middle of February 2023 before any repairs were done to it.
all that time i had been unable to use my truck and i was paying $108.80 a month for a truck i could not use, then in the middle of February Franco the owner told me the **** repairs were done, but i needed a new starter, i asked how much that would cost, he said he would call me back with the estimate, when he did call me back there was no estimate, but a bill asking for $1,509.72, I said I did not authorized the repairs, his reply was, i left a voice mail, i said i do not use voice mail, how can leaving a voice mail give him authorize repairs
i paid $1200, so far, **** waved the $300, I want the money i paid for insurance for 6 months it sat there without repairs, I want also the money i paid for the repairs $1200. I got my truck back near the end of march. The owner was rude, and yelled at me for talking to **** .I had to take a bank loan and borrow from money mart to pay for the repairs as I did not have money to pay for it.I have to pay interest on the bank loan,I would never have allowed him to repair my truck, because i did not have the money. I do not see any new parts put on my truck,He said he put a new starter, but really did not see any new part, my starter was fine before it was taken to his shop, 6 months my truck did not move, it was towed there, and it was towed back, what is the point of putting a new starter if my truck will not start, it was towed back and a solar panel is missing from the back of my truck, he asked for the keys for the back of my truck encase he said he started a fire under my truck, putting back the catalytic converter, 6months it took to replace a broken window, key ignition and a catalytic converter, I want all my money back and 6 months insurance, for sitting there

    Attention ****** *******,

Fraser River Paint & Body is responding to the complaint
submitted by ****** ***** regarding work we completed on his 2004 Ford ****. This
customer originally brought his truck in for a Catalytic Converter, Ignition,
and Door Lock repairs through ****.

Catalytic Converter thefts have continued to rise in recent
years, causing major manufacturer delays in production, resulting in back
orders with no available ETA. This was the reason that the customers truck sat from
    August 2022 to March 2023.

Once the ignition repair was complete, we attempted to start
the truck with no success. We found the starter seized and required replacement.
The customer was called, and we advised that the starter was seized and the
core would need to be charged as well due to the starters condition.

The manager at ******* towing attested that his vehicle is
parked in front of his building everyday and does not move. The vehicle sat
idle for several years and the fuel in the gas tank would have been over 3
years old, with no fuel stabilizer added.

Once the repairs were completed, the customer took the
vehicle back into possession. It wasn’t until the vehicle was towed back that
we found the door lock broken, likely from an attempted break and enter. Again,
the vehicle sits outside at all times and is not being used, according to
    ******** Towing.

Regarding the contents inside his vehicle, Fraser River
Paint & Body is not responsible for any personal belongings in the vehicle
and we ask for any important items to be removed when dropping off.

That being said, this is our first BBB complaint against our
company. We have a high level of integrity and are confident that none of our
employees would consider stealing personal belongings from any customers
    vehicle.

Attached you will find documents which show notes regarding
the starter being customer pay, along with a photocopy of the cash ****** used
to pay his bill for the additional work. We stand by our work and integrity, please
feel free to contact us for any additional information you may require.

    Sincerely,

    Marek S***

they did not call me to tell me the cost of replacing my starter, all that was said to me was it needed a new starter, when i asked for the cost<Franko told me he would call me back with the cost, he never did, he replaced it without my approval, how can he say my truck sat there for 3 years, i had started it the summer before the two.

so i do not know how he can say it would not start, and how is he to know what i added to mt fuel or not, he was not there, I know for a fact before my ignition was broken, my truck started, because i would move my truck from one spot to another. Franko told me he left a voice mail. i have no voice mail on my phone and even if i did, that does not give him the right to go a head and replace my starter. i had no money to replace my starter, so why would i have  new one put on, i want to be refunded for unauthorized work done, no if and or buts, I had to pay for something that I could have gotten fixed at a latter date. I do not see any new parts put on my truck

    Good Afternoon,

Given our latest response to his complaint, it is not clear that the customer fully read or understood our explanation. We received the payment from the customer related to replacing the starter prior to purchasing the part and installing it on the vehicle. We provided pictures of the cash in our previous message. We also only mentioned that the vehicle had bad fuel, likely from sitting for several years without adding any fuel stabilizer. There was no mention of any kind of contaminant or product that was intentionally put into his gas tank.

We understand that the customer will likely not come to an agreement with Fraser River Paint & Body. However, we will continue to stand by our service and will not be willing to provide reimbursement to the customer.

They made me believe I was already paying for a new starter. If they had explained to me.that the money they were taking was the cost to replace the starter. And and then asked me if I wanted  to replace the starter I would have said no. As I could not afford it. Because Franko was dishonest in his dealings with me. It has brought me to the BBB.

Franko called me. Stating I needed a new starter. I stated how much. He replied and said I will call you and let you know.

Had he called me like he said. And given me the estimate.  I would have told him.NO.

I would have said no to the starter replacement as I did not have the money to replace the starter. I believe nothing was wrong with my starter. As I started my truck maybe 2 summers ago. My truck sat in there yard for almost 7 months.

    FRANKO lead me on believing that they had gone a head without my approval and replaced the starter. I have looked under my truck trying to find a new starter. I can not see one. * ******* **** ********* ******* **** ***** *** **** *** ***** *** *** ** ******* *** * **** *** **********  * **** ****** ** ******* *** ****** ** **** ***** **** ****** ****** **** *** ***** ** * ********* *******  *** **** **** ****** *** **** **** ***** He yelled at me when I wanted to know when I was getting my truck back .he said you talked to your adjuster.  I said no. I was just replying to his email. Either way if he was a professional he should not be yelling at customers who inquire about there vehicle.

Bottom line. I want my money back because he never called to tell me the cost of a new starter or if I wanted it replaced.  .if he told me the cost. I would have said no to the replacement.  I am willing to settle for $1000
