On August 1st I paid my rent and found out I was charged twice. I gave manager a void cheque months ago but they said they cant use it and I need to send a new one before they can start taking money from my account. I did not provide a second void cheque as requested, so I assumed I would have to pay in person instead. I even asked the manager if I should pay or not, and he still said I should pay. They NEVER made me aware that they actually were able to make it work and they will be taking money from my account. They let me pay twice. I understand this happens but now I have an issue with how manager spoke to me. He refused to give me contact info for his higher **** so I said I guess I will try to find it myself. To which he responded sure, you can call them if you can find the number. Then he called me saying he got a phone call from a different building informing them that I called, and he said I was harassing him and threatened me with end of tenancy. He said this is not looking good for you. If youre not planning on moving any time soon I suggest you stop. Even though he told me if I can find his managers number online I can call, but he wont give it to me himself. Because he knows he made a mistake. I could not find the number of the manager. All I want is to speak to his higher *** about his behaviour because this is unacceptable. He turned the whole situation on me, and has left me with MINUS $1000+ in my account. I cannot pay for gas to get to work or get any essentials until they figure this out. He has hung up on me multiple times now, and the only way he is allowing me to speak to his bosses is if I email him, and he claims he will forward the email to whoever is needed. I said I need him to fix his f*** up to which he then said I swore at him and I am not allowed to speak to him that way. I didnt swear AT him. Its a figure of speech. He has twisted my action and words to make it seem like I am doing something wrong when all I want is a fix.

The tenants second payment actually bounced, so they did not actually overpay.  We offered to cover any nsf fees etc... as a goodwill measure.  Before we found out the tenants payment bounced we issued a cheque to cover the double payment, which the tenant later returned to us.  To clarify void cheques are requested for pre approved payment so she actually gave a payment cheque in addition to the previous for PAP so it was an error on both sides.

The site manager was continually harrassed by the tenant to the point they could not even work on getting a refund and the tenant used abusive/threatening language.  As a result of the harrassement and language the manager did mention that the abuse could result in action under her tenancy.  We understand that it was a stressfull situation and have spoken with the manager to try and de-escalate in the future rather than getting sucked into arguements.

As the money was never taken and we offered to cover any nsf fees etc... we feel this matter is closed.

I am rejecting this response because:

The response did not actually address my request to speak to someone above him, so this matter is not resolved. I dont appreciate being told that I harassed the manager when I was within my right to ask questions regarding my money (which at that point was in the minus in my bank account). Did I call multiple times? Yes. Were more than half of those calls requested by the building manager to keep him informed about what my bank said? Also yes. I would suggest you have a good read of the criminal code since you so easily throw the word harassment around. I can guarantee that legally I was within my right to make the calls that I did.

I dont believe this was a mistake on both sides, considering the staff insisted the *** form I gave them could not be used. I did my part, and I paid in person according to their instructions. If they knew how to do their job this would have 100% been avoided.

    Sincerely,
