Im going to take civil action against them today. I took my car to their shop and described that the car shakes when it hits 60kmh and stops shaking at about 100kmh. The manager went out and looked at my car and recommended to change the front tires and do an alignment to fix the car. He quoted me **** to fix the car. I agreed and the next day I took the car in for repair. They called me and told me that the car is fixed. I picked up the car and the car is still shaking. I called them and took it back in and they charged me 60 more dollar and told me its fixed. But the car still shakes. I called the manager and now he tells me he has done his job and he is no longer responsible. ***** ** *** ******* ** *** ****** ** * ************ ********* * ******* **** **** *** *** **** *** **** ************** ** ******* **** **** ******** **** **** *** ****** *** ********* ** ** ******

    Business Response

    Date: 15/07/2023

To Whom It May ************************************ came into my shop complaining of a vibration and felt he needed an alignment. Performing an alignment virtually never solves a vibration, so we went outside to examine his tires.  The two rear tires had very recently been installed south of the border at a ******************* store, so they could logically be placed down the list as a possible problem.  The two front tires were very worn, and were exhibiting some wear that could be attributed to the alignment being out-of-spec.  Keeping efficiency and the customers pocketbook in mind, I felt there was no need to waste time and effort trying to balance the worn out fronts, so I recommended we replace to two fronts and perform an alignment all of which was needed and agreed to.

When completed, I suggested he try it and let me know;  traffic being what it is in this area, it is almost impossible to get up to the speeds he was experiencing a vibration without investing about a half an hour to do so, and we were too busy to entertain that (plus, we would have to bill for it).

He returned days later complaining of the same vibration.  That caused me to immediately focus on the new rear tires from *******************. We took in the vehicle and spun up both rear tires on the balancer.  One was .5oz out-of-balance, which is not a lot but could manifest itself into a slight vibration, however the right rear (passenger rear) was found to have a noticeable hop while spinning.  This is most likely the issue.  Nothing can be done with that tire other than replacing it, which should be on *******************. Far from saying the issue was fixed, I mentioned that it might be a bit better, but that tire needs to be replaced. I advised Mr. ***** that he should have some recourse with them when he heads back south (** ******* ** **********).

We have done all we can for Mr. ****** other than replacing a tire that ******************* should warranty.  I hardly see how that is greedy or dishonest.

    Thank you,
