This company charged me 280.66 $ for towing my vehicle to their yard 4 Km away with creative way of billing for gas surcharge 48.49 and dolly fee 54.88 of .how you can use 48.49 dollar worth of gas for 4 KM and using dolly is part of the job, it is like hiring a plumber and he/she charges extra for bringing his/her plier to work . it is too HIGH and not reasonable. I used tow truck service in Chilliwack on Sunday holiday and charged for 100 $ ,another time in Coquitlam last Summer total 120 $. I did not have choice and they did tow me on behalf of city of North Vancouver ,there should be a guideline for pricing by city .I am trying to convince them of that and still in first steps! worst experience of costumer service

      Hello Sir:
Saddened to see your review for the tow that we initialed by the bylaw department. The pricing is accurate and i can not speak for the other tows you are stating in your complaint as these are not done by our company. We pride ourselves on addressing all customer complaints.
The Dollies are not part of every job and take considerable amount of extra work or the drivers to install them and safely strap the dollies to the vehicle. As for the fuel surcharge we use the **** mandated fuel Surcharge that is put out by them every three months.
We hope this clarifies the complaint for you. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact us at anytime.

Started out really good but ended up being the absolute worst experience with a tow truck company. Overcharged me, was late because they used the wrong equipment for the job which then set me back and made me miss the ferry, which then cost me a night in North Vancouver on a Friday night. Then I couldn't find a hotel with commercial truck parking and they charged me a storage fee to leave it in their yard overnight. Then they lost the key for my truck and insisted that it did NOT need a key because it was a push button start. Which in fact it is not a push button start and the manager implied I didn't know what I was talking about. Just an all around TERRIBLE experience which cost me about a thousand dollars more than originally told and the job wasn't even done right.

      Hi ***,
Thank you for your email. We also appreciate the work; hopefully, this will help clear up what happened.
On Thursday, October 20th, around 3 pm, you called our business asking if we could tow a recently purchased Fire truck from a location in Kamloops and bring it back to our facility for the next day. You mentioned that two other companies had cancelled on you, and you wanted it done immediately. We were able to assist; originally, you wanted it done on a landoll (giant flatbed truck with moving axles). In order to do this, we need to know some basic details, the length, weight and most importantly, the height. 13”6” is the legal height; anything higher requires a permit, piolet vehicles, and most times has restricted routes. Several times through calls and emails, we politely pressed for the height, but you told us you were unable to get it. Within the last two years, we have towed over 50 fire trucks for municipalities like North and West Vancouver, Vancouver, Burnaby and Coquitlam. Towing firetrucks is something we have extensive experience with, and we cannot take chances. Without knowing the height, we cannot put it on a trailer. The fire truck was towed with a tandem wrecker, the same way we do it for each municipality. It was towed safely and in a professional manner. To be transparent, the ******* trailer and/or Wrecker have the same hourly rate, so there is no difference in price in which piece of equipment is used.
We quoted roughly 10 hours to go up and back. Friday was the first day of rain in months and the first day of snow on the mountain passes. We cannot control the weather conditions, and the operator has to take his time to do the job safely. The total time was 13 hours. When we arrived on the scene, the fire truck would not start and required a jump. Those mechanically inclined know it’s not like jumping a car. It takes a long time to recharge those big batteries, adding an hour to that time. Throughout the process, not once was it mentioned where you had to catch a ferry. We left at seven am; if time was a concern, we could have left earlier if requested. You asked about the parking fees on the initial quote, insinuating you wanted to leave it at our facility overnight from the start.
On any given day, we manage several hundred sets of keys. Yes, in this case, we mistagged the keys for a brief period; the dispatcher did not read the notes and had to speak with the operator. Saturday morning a manager was contacted at just after 7 am, 8:05 am the keys were located, and it took another operator 45 minutes to get the fire truck running with a boost. Just after 9 am you were contacted that the firetruck was running and good to go to your camp/worksite.
      • The firetruck was towed safely and professionally with the information provided.
      • No timelines were requested or mentioned to our dispatch staff or management.
      • The mechanical condition of the firetruck added time to complete the task.
      • It was the first day of rain and snow on the mountain passes.
We quoted 10 hours to do the job; it took a total of 13 to get it to our facility. We understand you were frustrated about the time and the keys, so we waived the additional 3 hours and stuck with our 10-hour quote. This was a savings of $708.60. I apologize you feel you had a bad encounter. Our staff was also disappointed you felt that way. If you give us the opportunity, we hope to make it better on the next one. Thank you
