About This Business

Our farm was hatched from the need for greater accessibility of healthy and affordable food options from happy hens close to home. Spending nearly three decades as a chef “Chicken Chris” (he/him) who has a family background in farming felt the need to eat a little healthier. Extensive knowledge of big food industries has been unsettling knowing the mistreatment of animals and people including food waste is unnecessary.

We are a small flock family run farm in Port Coquitlam. We acknowledge the Stó:lo¯ and Kwikwetlem Nations as well as the Coast Salish Peoples on whose traditional unceded territories we live, work and play. The hens are let out of their coop into a secure predator free yard space every morning and put away at dusk. Our chickens go outside every day of the year to soak up as much vitamin D as possible which in turn makes our eggs more nutritious. They have dirt bath areas and all the bugs they can find. The hens vary in age and size so some eggs are larger than others. They are provided the highest quality, Canadian grown, vegetarian pellet food and extra flax from the local Otter Co-op as well as lovely green vegetables from local restaurants with no animal by-products, no antibiotics, no steroids and no hormones as always.
