On July 15, 2025, my car was towed from a parking lot next to ***, located at X** (entrance via XXX). I parked for just a few minutes to pick up essential items for my young children at a friends house. Before leaving, I carefully looked for any visible signs indicating parking was prohibited or that towing could occur, but I found none. When I returned, my car was gone. In distress, I believed it had been stolen and called the police. After a long search, I discovered a small sign hidden behind a tree, which I recorded on video. I repeatedly called the number X** and only after persistent effort learned where my car was ********** the towing companys lot, I was told I had to pay $426 immediately to retrieve my car, or the fee would increase to over $1,000 the next day. This fee is unrealistically high compared to typical towing charges in the area.I showed the video of the hidden signs to an employee, who told me to pay and return the next day to speak to the manager for a promised refund. This refund never happened. When I returned, I was treated poorly and received only an automatic response: private property. This experience was intimidating, abusive, and extremely stressful. I was under emotional and financial pressure, with my wife undergoing aggressive cancer treatment and two young children at home. I felt coerced to pay immediately to avoid an exorbitant fee, with no alternatives offered.Coquitlam Bylaw No. 518/2018 requires clear and visible signage in towing areas. Signs hidden behind trees or other signs do not comply. The fact that this is semi-private property (a collective-use area with private control) does not exempt the company from following the law.I am seeking reimbursement of the $426 I paid unfairly. I do not expect the company to fully admit fault, but I refuse to accept them hiding behind private property as if it excuses unlawful practices.

Benjamin Towing charged $399.53 to remove a visitors vehicle that was parked under eight hours, despite an active permit with a minor clerical error. This kind of disproportionate fee structure raises serious concerns about ********* pricing, especially when residents and guests have no meaningful way to contest or appeal charges. This should be illegal in **. They are ******* on local residents for their hard-earned money.

I am writing to formally complain about Benjamin Towings towing of my vehicle from **************** on June 26, 2025. I received no prior notice. I was forced to pay $329 to recover my car. This towing feels unfair and possibly unlawful. Despite contacting Benjamin Towing to request a refund, I have not received a satisfactory response.I am requesting BBBs assistance in resolving this dispute fairly.Thank you,***** *******

I parked briefly in a handicap spot at **************** Shopping Mall. The sign wasn't clear, so I didn't notice it. When I saw they were about to tow my car, I rushed back and was asked to pay $150 to avoid it. I wasn't told why I had to pay while I was right there. When I asked, the driver was **** and said, "*** *** ******* ** **." I want to address this unfair treatment and lack of explanation.

********* business practices, and possible contravention of ** Regulations on impounding a vehicle. Impounded by vehicle within 10 minutes of parked in vistors parking on strata property. Strata regulations allow for visitor parking without a permit if not for "extended period of time" The charge was $225 for at 3.6km tow of a small vehicle. It appear to me that they lie in wait, and pounce and possibly get tipped off... no other way that it could have happened given the parking location. Someone in authority should really be looking into their practices... it is disgusting. One star only because there is nothing less.

I parked the car at a free parking slot near **** drive on square mall in **************. Benjamin Towing company towed away my car in 30mins when I was near the parking area. Importantly there were no signage of reserved parking or prohibited parking. ********************** company charged me 260$ for ********************. There is a **** going on as if you look at the complaints this company has received so far is very high. This is simply unethical and such companies should be reprimanded and closed for operating. All the people who have been duped by them should be *00% paid back. Here is a quick summary of their ******* acts: *. No signage that says parking is for max * hour. Signage messages that say its tenants and customer parking both are faded/invisible. Have proof. 2. They say they have video recording of people who do not stay in plaza area. Where is the proof? How can you tow without proof? Why the video not shown before charging amount? 3. Customer parking means parking for people who are there in that area and we were there yet they have put ***** statement. Highly unethical. We need to stop such organizations running these ***** with no fear. I would like ******************** to take some serious actions against the firm and duly pay back my and every other ******* money duly back.

***** *********. we were in a store when the driver of the no.01 tow truck came in and started yelling at an *** **** t0o move her car. she told him to wait a minute and she will move it, that was not good enough ****** move it so she got **** with him and he tells her **** ***. she dropped everything and went to move the car and he got in her face again and swearing at her so now she was upset and refused to move her car. i went out to try to defuse the situation but the driver was too stupid to understand to shut his mouth and she will move it. then he gets in my face and starts swearing and yelling at me. I saw that talking calmly with this ***** is no option so I got louder than him which seemed to bring him down but by this time all store owners and customers were out looking and watching this ***** pick on an old lady when she was out to do what he wanted. he ********** her with towing her car and calling the police. I tried phoning their company but it seemed it went to someones cell phone and said to leave a message. I didn't because it was going to go no where. if he had been calm and polite she would have moved it. but he was on a power trip and wanted to flex and push around an old lady. After the incident I talked to a few store keepers and all said he was there every day being **** to all their customers. they are afraid it will drive business away from their strip mall because of this guy. they all had many complaints about him. I did not even want to give them one star but I had no choice.
