I Went there for an appointment specifically saying that the car fault was the map sensor. I showed the fault code to the guy who assisted me and also told him that the headlight was blown and swaybar link was loose upon diagnosis when i did my oil change with them. I drop my car at 7:30 the appointment time. He said the service guys are occupied so I left the place and came back about 10am. He said the guys are still checking so I waited until around ****am. I feel frustrated because I thought I have specified the fault code and told him other issues that was the diagnosis of their oil change services, and was shocked that I was charged with diagnostic fee of 190$ per hour, which am pretty sure they did not do two hours plus checking the car. I also told him I am a student and requested him to call me first about the price if needed to proceed with map sensor replacement. The initial charge was almost $450 just for the diagnosis which I specifically said the fault beforehand. I explained to the customer service and they lower down the charges at $300+tax but still, I felt so disappointed. I only brought the car there for servicing because their oil change service is really great. If the guy who assisted me informed that the diagnostics fee is 190$ per hour, as a student, i would NOT proceed for the car diagnosiswhen I have already specified and showed the fault code readed from their oil change service. I dont think diagnosis is needed when it is already obvious that the fault was headlight blown and initial report from their oil change service saying sway bar link loose. actually I wasted money to pay for $320 just to say that they diagnose the fault. Nothing done with car just paid them the money.

Its unfortunate the customer feels nothing was done to their vehicle and they wasted their money having it diagnosed. We genuinely care about our customers and there is no satisfaction for us in charging customers for repairs which are not needed. We take into consideration the codes or self-diagnostics customers bring to our attention during the check in process of their vehicle into or facility. However, there could be dozens of other explanations for their problem. If we just changed the parts the customers think it is, we might get lucky and fix the customers issue but unfortunately more than 80% of the time it doesnt fix the issue because the problem lies somewhere else. For instance, a broken wire. We then have a customer who is upset because their vehicle still isnt working, and they still have a bill to pay. This is why when a customer comes in asking for us to just replace a part, we always suggest and try to convince the customer to get the issue diagnosed first. We take the time to explained to all our customers, even if the repair might be covered under warranty, there might be a diagnosis charge of $164.75 to diagnosis the issue. Not $190.00 as customer has stated. We then have the customers sign the repair order authorizing the diagnostics or other repairs which need to be completed. This was done and the customer signed the ** giving the authorization to diagnose the issue. If the customer just wanted the *** sensor changes, why then did they state in their complaint, they wanted us to call first about the price if needed to proceed with *** sensor replacement. Does this not indicate she wanted us to look at it first before replacement? There issue was intermittent and the warning light was going off and on.

Totally not fine because it was not relayed to me that the charges for the diagnosis was 160++ or whatever per hour your records will show that I am new customer, since I dropped the car there at 730am appointment I keep waiting and I know my car was not inspected yet because ***** told me that your guys are pretty occupied when I left and come back at about 930am, and I waited until 11am plus too until the ***** who assisted me explained the charges of almost $450 just for diagnosis????which means you counted charging during the time I dropped of the car? Not even started the diagnosis? At least you guys explained that the diagnosis was 160++ an hour or whatever and as a student, as I already told ***** to call me first if needed to replace any parts, I only brought my car there because I received the call from your sales to follow up because of the note of loose sway bar link noted on your report when I brought my car there for an oil change. I am pretty sure it was already on the record so does that one needs a diagnosis too? This also answers the manager who advised me next time don't bring my car in dodge and just bring it to the ********************* Then next time don't give follow up calls to other customers who bring other car brands there for oil change.
