I missed out on a delivery by *** today, I read I had to pay $69.04 on the notice but that I could pay online. Mind you, this is a $86 USD item. I go online and it asks me to pay $62. That's a price discrepancy. So I call *** and ask why, on the phone the agent said it was actually $73.74. Why 3 different prices for an item which almost matches the brokerage fees/import fees/taxes? They couldn't admit on the phone why they do not advise customers in writing that paying online is a cheaper option, and why does that option only become available IF you miss your delivery driver. This screams fraudulent to me, it's shady and deceptive. A price should be the same, and if there's a discrepancy your customer should be notified in writing. There is nothing on the website that addresses this, and the agent on the phone and their manager expressed zero accountability for this. Imagine going to ************* Foods/SaveOn or whatever and paying for bananas for $1.23, but then you go to the till and it's $2 and you check online and it's 0.50 cents... this is deceptive and wrong. Especially finding out you can only get the link to pay IF you miss the delivery driver. Needless to say I will not use *** again and will join countless people on reddit complaining about the same said thing. Companies should be transparent, clear and notify customers in writing and on their site about any discrepancies. *** for instance has always maintained the same price online as on the paperwork you receive. I don't trust *** anymore and you shouldn't either.
