January 14, 2023 at 5PM Gift certificate value of 12 dollars are only able to purchase items in store that is regular price.Bakery, has taken the money in exchange for gift card and limits the condition to what it can purchase and not purchase when the value of the amount is the amount for which was paid for gift card. They take the money in ahead of time and then put restrictions on how the gift card is to be use. I feel that is not in the best interest of the consumer and bad company policy. It is very misleading that the bakery is able to do this to consumer. It should be explained to the consumer before purchase of gift card that it only applies to regular price items before selling to consumer of the gift card.I also read on the gift card that it excludes promotional items. I was using the card to buy discounted items not a promotional item. Promotional items is if you buy something from the store from a certain identify date limit and get certain percentage off (eg: promo runs from Jan to Feb by one cake get second cake half price). I tried to use the gift card to buy discounted items, items that at end of day where the store had put at a reduced price to sell as many as possible so that to avoid day old bakery. These are discounted items and not considered promotional items. The reason why I was unable to buy the discounted items was because there was already a 10 percent discount on the gift cards, however you would need to buy over 10 gift cards to get the discount. Consumer who received the gift card does not know if the person who gifted the card received the 10 percent discount. Take an example, I buy a gift card from a store valued at 50 dollar. I go to use the gift card face value of 50 dollars at the store. The store tells me that the gift card does not apply to sale items, where if I was to use **** or cash to purchase items in the store, there is no restrictions. Is that fair to the consumer?
