I rented an ** in Camperland for 1 night, July 27 2024. I stayed in the ** with myself and 4 children.Check in should have been 1pm, we were checked in late. The outdoor deck was disgusting. There was stained liquid spills everywhere (a bear had torn apart garbage on the deck the previous night), I am assuming the mess was garbage juices. The area around the firepit had food remnants scattered everywhere. The deck chairs had to be wiped down by myself before we could sit in them. There was a slurpee cup full of smoking butts and ashes left on the propane tank. When I opened up the table and couch to make beds, there was leftover food and Cutlery under the furniture. I emailed Camperland to bring this to their attention, they did not seem to be concerned. In the morning, the shower started to fill up with ***** and stinky water. The entire ** smelled of sewage. The items I had stored in the shower were covered in nasty unsanitary liquid. I called the office and they sent up a maintenance worker.I have since learned that my $200 deposit was not refunded because the cleaning staff reported the ** to smell of Marijuana and was unable to be rented out for the following night. There was no Marijuana on the site. The ** smelled of sewage.

Hello. I am filing a complaint against this company because of the following reasons. We have stayed at this campsite resort on previous occasions without incidents, but on our last visit we had troubles with the site next to us. The people were absolutely vulgar, swearing, drinking, doing drugs, large dogs pitbull, unattended kids, loud music late at night, arguing fighting to wear the police had to be called. This was an unacceptable situation. The people finally left but before they did. The woman who was staying there unloaded her trailers sewer tank all over the ground. This was a careless act that put our site into a health Hazzard. As it was above our site all the sewer came flowing down to our area. It took the site staff a long time to show up. They did what they could to clean up the mess. My family was subjected to a health ******* in my opinion. Plus we did our best to help clean it up. My equipment was subjected to f**** and sewer, large carpet outside mat. Coolers, shoes, and other camping things. I have asked the owners of camperland to reimburse my stay, pay for damage to our equipment and for our efforts to clean up this horrible situation. I am not satisfied with what they have offered. $200.00 credit to our next stay. I find this totally offensive that they are not willing to address my losses and expenses on my equipment and time and effort for clean up.I am asking for help to get a dollar amount refund not a credit. Thank you. ***********************

Camperland charged a $300.00 hydro deposit upon booking. It is solely for when you depart to charge the final hydro meter reading.

They have a wait list for spots.

I have cancelled by reservation for October 11th, and I was under the impression that I would receive my hydro deposit back as I didn’t stay there, and they voiced to me they have a wait list. Upon cancelling, they will not refund the hydro bill deposit, which means they keep the $300.00 dollars for services not rendered, and will also charge the next person who books $300.00.

    The deposit was not
for hydro. It was to hold a spot. WHEN the guest checks out any additional
charges not paid (including hydro) are taken before the deposit is returned. The $300 is a reservation fee not a deposit towards hydro.

We will not be addressing this any further.

I am rejecting this response because:

As camperland noted, it is returned upon departure from their RV resort with Hydro being deducted. When I made the reservation over the phone I was told it was a hold for hydro. As I am not using their services at all, the 300 should be returned to me because I wouldn’t be using their services at all. I also want to note in an email they sent to me, that they have people wanting to be in that spot, so now the next person who books with them will pay the 300 for their sites. I didn’t sign anything agreeing to a non-refundable deposit, and again all I was told upon booking is that the 300 goes towards the hydro bill and is returned at the end of my stay. As I’m not staying it only makes sense for the 300 to be returned. Why would they only give you a deposit back if you stay and not if you cancel?

    Sincerely,
