I started short term disability *** ****** ****** *******. I was given a disability manager that I feel didnt listen to my concerns right from the start. I read online about a pill check that could be done to find medications that work with you since I have tried multiple in past with no known effect. My partner was in the room with me when she called and I did in fact ask for this and it wasnt made available she said it was a hard no. I went from one medication to another because of side effects. I finished my **** therapy but this is just the start. I am not feeling better, my last phone call conversation she told me time was running out I have until august 30th to return to work. I asked if I could get a life coach to help and she said the money was all out. To me it felt like she was all about money, hear the conversations on the phone I have made strides in my mental health , but I dont feel understood. I was given a kinesiologist to help me move again and this service was below par I had three **** calls only 30 mins each. I made it known I wanted a psychiatrist and this never happened and you would think this would be top priority trying to find the medication to help with everything. I felt like I also made the solutions to everything . I gave the disability manager the name of my **** therapist and I did 6 sessions which I am very grateful. I am feeling very rushed to get back to work now and I still have 1.5 months and no more services available to me when Im in this hard ship. I dont feel heard, I just go quiet because the disability manager thinks she knows whats best for me and its not. On my first phone call with her she talked about what she does for joy like going to the spa and getting hair done. ** ***** ****** ***** ** *** ****** * **** ** *** ****** ***** *** ***** *** **** **** ******* ** ***** ******** * **** ****** ***** * **** **** ** *** ******* *** ** ***** ** ****** ** ** **** **** **** ******* I need more time and help

I contracted Covid at work in November 2021 - I was working at a group home and this wasn't unexpected. I ended up with long haul covid symptoms - parosmia (distorted tastes and smells) and was encouraged to use work benefits to take stress leave. The benefits were through Disability Management Institute (DMI). Short term disability was difficult to get paid for but eventually it was paid out. November 18th 2022 was my last day of short term disability. I pushed to go back to work - work had said they couldn't let me come back until *** signed off on it. My first day back I was informed that during contract negotiations my job had been eliminated. They would honor my salary for 30 days and then it would be dropping back down to a starting wage. I began to cry and was sent home for the day. DMI decided my crying was because I wasn't ready to return and began the application for long term disability. No one said how long that would take. They cut all of my extra benefits (therapist and work rehab while the application was being processed). I realized in February that I couldn't just sit with no income and found a new job. My employment at the old job ended March 3rd but I was assured the time I spent waiting would be compensated. Today, I sent an email asking for an update to DMI with my case number attached. The email response indicated they have no idea who I am and I doubt I'm going to see any of that money. These people ruined my life, my career, everything. My credit score dropped 300 points, I have bills in collections. I spent December living in a women's shelter with my kids. We had no Christmas. While I would love to have this resolved, I doubt it ever will be. If it can't, I just want people to know that DMI is a ****.
