    We are two seniors that hired Jamie Janda Contracting for a home renovation in September 2023 to be completed by December 2023.For most part the work went well, unfortunately, an oversight on our part, we paid in advance for work not attended to. We are out of pocket thousands of dollars of dollars and with work to be completed. He left the project with a number of deficiencies that he refused to attend to or or acknowledge. Jamie has not shown any transparencies and refuses to disclose actual REAL costs of extras that we have been charged for.

    Jamie  Janda has failed to follow through on his commitment  on any amounts of over payments /
      and refuses to acknowledge any of the many deficiencies as in his response stating that his goal
      would try to satisfy the clients request within 15 days.
      We have suggested to mediate a resolution that has been refused by Jamie Janda.
      Your question " how would you like to proceed in this matter".
      Jamie Janda has provided no alternative but to force us to proceed in a legal manner.
       Should there be an alternate solution provided by BBB, we would be receptive to address.

    I am rejecting this response because: We have received partial of the overpayment made to this company.

     Also this company has denied any of unapproved over charges and still denies any deficiencies.

     We have received absolutely no cooperation to settled this matter regardless of our request for a third party arbitration.

    I am rejecting this response because: Our original complaint that Jamie Janda was aware of from January 2024,regarding a towel warmer not heating up                                                                                                                                        and the newly installed water filter system leaking into the room below has never been attended to.

    Furthermore, there has been numerous deficiencies that Jamie Janda has refused to acknowledged.

    We have NEVER received any SPECIFICS of what he wishes to attend to, nor any time frame provided.

    We have received partial payment for work not performed by Jamie Janda Contracting with no commitment of any further refund.

    Hi, sorry for the delayed response i have been away on holidays for the past 4 weeks. I also received a letter via registered mail on Tuesday April 1st.

     

    Regarding this complaint I have tried every option available to resolve any issues with **** and ******.

     

    1 - I have refunded the total amount received as a deposit.  

    2- have offered to repair any deficiencies they may have but there response is they want someone from my team to commence the work and wont allow myself back into there home. The way I have my business structured is I am the main form of contact to do any repairs or address any defects.

    3- They still have an amount due which in good faith I haven't requested the amount since the images they have provided should actually be less cost to repair ( rough cost they have due upon my request is $780.00+gst.) im not asking for payment I am trying my best to be done with this matter.

     

    I have exceptional business reviews in the lower mainland by multiple consumers/ customers since 2008 and have had accreditation since 2017. **** is disappointed because I refuse to do anymore work for this induvial since I personally don't think I am good fit for them as contractor. I have every right to refuse services as long as I haven't taken any payment and have done the best work to my capabilities. In the consumers  ****** review he even stated we did great work but apparently I " took advantage of seniors" I never once took advantage of anyone ever. He has been full reimbursed the amount for the deposit received.

    Work went well and was all ok, unfortunately , by oversight, we paid Jamie Janda contracting in advance of work to be finished
    Consequently, we are out of thousands of dollars with unfinished work
    Jamie Janda is aware he was overpaid and refuses to reimburse
    Not only did he walk out of the contract , Jamie would not attend to or acknowledge his deficiencies
    Several months of corresponding with Jamie Janda has been in vain

    Jamie Janda has not shown transparency and refuses to disclose real costs for the paid extras

    We are advising other SENIORS to use caution when approached by or dealing with Jamie Janda

    Why did we TRUST him ??? "

     

    I do all my best trying to make sure all my clients are treated with the most respect and best business practices I have never had anyone write a negative review in all my years of business. I personally believe this induvial is upset because of my refusal to do anymore work for them. please let me know what else I can possibly do as a business.

      Good morning ******
      I understood ten days as ten working days.
      Attached is the "Celebration of Life" we attended in ********
      Due to this our focus was on family and friends.
      We do request the re opening of this file as we do wish we can
      arrange a compromise with Jamie Janda Construction.
      Attached is the correspondence with Jamie Janda stating 
      that  (we have been taking potential work from him)
      His reference was to landscaping work that was in progress.
      Jamie advised us he would like to provide a design concept 
      and quote for landscaping.
      We waited two months and with Jamie stating he was so busy 
      that we went with a company that could provide a quote and do the work.
      You will note, that he refused to complete the contract and refuses to 
      acknowledge his deficiencies.
