When I reached out to Darren about a simple walkway job he responded immediately and answered any questions I had. On the date Darren installed, he was quick but his cuts were sloppy it is very visible in the walkway. And it wasn’t like he couldn’t spare cutting a new paver, because he over ordered by 50 pavers (which I had to absorb the cost even though he placed the order). Darren had to come back the next day to put the polymeric sand. This gave me time to inspect the walkway, and I immediately saw a dip that could be a spot with bad drainage and pooling water. When Darren came back the next day, I voiced my concerns and Darren said his work was perfect and there shouldn’t be any pooling water or drainage issues, but if an issue does come up he told me I could reach out to him and he would fix it right away no problem. (I have this on video/audio from my backyard camera). Darren continued to put the polymeric sand down. Similar to the pavers, I had to pay for the sand to his supplier (which isn’t a problem). However Darren used minimal sand and only used 15% of the bag. More sand would be needed due to settling. Darren made sure he took the bag of sand with him so he could use it for his next job. Which left me having to go buy more sand to top it up. After a couple rainfalls my concerns of pooling water and drainage were confirmed, but even more. The water pools for several hours with a depth of half an inch in the deepest spot. I reached out to Darren and told him of the issue. Darren read my message (it showed when he read it) but didn’t respond and was now giving me the cold shoulder. A few days later I asked when he would be available to come and fix it. Darren said he was really busy and would “let me know”. I sent him more messages, pictures, and videos of the amount of water that pools. Darren said that his grade was perfect and his work was flawless. Darren said he would come to fix it but he never showed and never responded to me to this day.
