Marv H******** provided plumbing services on Nov 26, 2022 at our residence. He was hired to fix the toilet tank that was not filling up on the 3rd floor. Before he started, he asked me (the complainant) where the main water shut off is located. I took him to the garage and showed the utility room where the main water shut off is located. We proceeded to the 3rd floor and showed him the toilet tank that needs to be fixed. I left him and I went downstairs. Later, I heard Marv calling me. I went upstairs and found water overflowing on the bathroom floor. Marv was under the sink. I ran and got towels. Marv told me to turn off the water valve downstairs. I told him I can't as I don't know. He kept yelling at me to turn off the water valve. I hesitantly ran downstairs and turned the water valve. This time clean water overflowed to the second floor already. I placed towels on the floor and put 2 buckets to catch the water from the ceiling. Marv went downstairs to the garage. Marv said he went to turn off the sprinkler valve. Marv explained that when he cut the PRV, he didn't realize that the sprinkler was connected which caused the water to overflow. Marv called a restoration guy. He arrived with 2 drying machines and 3 dehumidiifer. Marv said that he has a painter who could repaint the ceiling. Despite the shocking incident, Marv charged me $200 and I paid him. On Dec 5 I texted Marv and asked about the painter that he mentioned. he replied ok. I sent a follow up text on Dec 13 if the painter is available after Christmas. Marv replied, will see if his painter is available. I sent a text on Dec 15 asking when is the earliest availability if the painter is not available after christmas. Marv replied, not sure, he is away on vacation. I sent a text to Marv on Jan 8 and 20 and followed up the painter. He has not responded. It appears that he is now avoiding his responsibility in fixing the damages caused by his **********. Thank you.
