1 starDo NOT attend this college. They are AWEFUL. I have been in the program for almost 2 years and they make it impossible. The teachers are rude and they really don't care about students its all about making money. They basically throw stuff at you and then your supposed to know things (and believe me its stuff that would need to be taught). They expect you to have already been in a program for 2 years and already know all this stuff. And I'm not talking photoshop were talking complicated gaming programs. Basically you'll have NO life and it'll be crammed down your throat in 6 week intervals where you spend every waking moment on projects. In fact, You will get max 4 hours of sleep while trying to do projects and the teachers do not do anything to help their students. You either get it or you dont.Review fromRachel P

1 starWas thinking of attending ****, but decided against it after looking into their school and practices more. Told them politely that I was no longer interested and was attending a ditterent school. They called and emailed me 3-5 times a WEEK asking to enroll me, I would reply each time over email and the phone that I was no longer interested and to please stop contacting me. They continued to call and email me for 8 weeks and I had to threaten them with going to their governing board with a harassment claim/suit before they finally left me alone. Vultures, the whole lot!Review fromLady P

5 starsI have been a student at VCAD for almost 8 months now. I signed up on September 25, 2023… April 25, 2024 will be my official 8 months in to the program!! I can say they really upped their standards, and expectations w/ their teachers & student services, financial officers, tutoring support services. In some instances, where some of the teachers don’t talk to you one on one, on ***** meetings, you can ****** on them to the 3D modelling animation and art design manager and have the teachers talk to you if they’re too busy to chat or at least give you a thumbs up saying they agree with something. Take screen shots and send them off to the manager of your course you’re taking. I’m in their 3D Modelling and animation design 2 year diploma course. I’ve been doing 3 classes per term ever since my first 5 classes for the first term was hectic and my brain couldn’t handle the amount of information. I had to go to my other doctor for the doctor’s note for them to put on file to take 3 classes per term. And so far, it has been working like a charm, I am paying them $43,702 for two year program with student loans and grants. I am excited to finish the program and get a really great high paying job!! Also, when applying for these apply for a 3 or 4 classes per term if you have ADHD, or any other mental health issues, get your doctors note, pay for it, then submit it with your application early on. You’ll have less homework to worry about. Teachers have been super supportive of me, except for 1 teacher who just doesn’t chat with you and just reads your messages and doesn’t reply back. My other teachers have gotten better at communications. Since the main complaint on these reviews were about communications to students. You just have to ****** on them to get them talking. I know ********* is a bad word to use, but that’s how it goes. You need to advocate yourself. You’re grown ups. Act like it!! Call or email is the best way to get a hold of your manager’s course.Review fromNathan C

1 starI was a student back in 2015. Reading the current reviews, it's clear that nothing has changed. Teachers playing ******* videos for their classes. Computers that couldn't even run the software that was installed on them. When challenged about the lack of equipment, they accused students of stealing ram out of the computers only to find out that it was installed in about 15 computers out of a probably 90 computers on campus. Multiple times I showed up to class to not even be able to open the software because of updates that weren't installed in the downtime. Not like I was paying a thousand dollars per class or anything... As for classes, only a couple were even worth attending. Those same thoughts were also shared by the faculty as well because multiple instructors quit during the two years i was enrolled there. At least 9 teachers quit in two years... possibly more but 9 from the game development department alone. My character design class restarted 3 times with 3 different teachers because they kept quitting. You'd think with a track record like that you'd be at Hogwarts in the defense against dark arts class but they only lost 1 teacher each year... Not 9 in 2 years. To anyone looking to enroll, I hope you do your due diligence and read these reviews and stay far away from this school. Out of the two years worth of students that I made contact with, only about 8 students received jobs that I'm aware of. Those that did get jobs pushed themselves far past what the school was teaching and made an effort to teach themselves beyond what VCAD was offering. Meaning they would have made it if they went to VCAD or any other college. Remember, you can watch youtube videos about 3d modeling at home, don't pay these morons to play them in a classroom setting for you.Review fromKaylee H

1 starTLDR; functions like a sweat shop, not a college. burnout is imminent. they dont care about you just your money. I'm taking their online course, I would actually give them zero stars if I could. They honestly couldn't care less about your mental health the penalize you for not being able to function and make it to classes or log on, their extensions are a joke, and you can't take extra time for classes, like an example, when my mom took a payroll course she was able to extend her term so she could have extra time and get stuff done, here you get three months and that's it you fail? oh too bad you're penalized even if the circumstances were out of your control. They don't even have a summer break, spring break nothing. they just work you like a pack mule, the burn out in students is ridiculous. They have teachers that falsely accuse you of plagiarism and don't even require the teacher to prove it's plagiarized, they also poach student and pressure you into applying. My advice? Tell them you're not interested and block their numbers. it's not worth your sanity to go to this school. The student services is a joke. The turn over for the program coordinators is atrocious you'll get one that is so willing to help and make things easy for you and then poof a month or two later they're gone. the new one is honestly not good at her job, my mental health was so bad for a while my husband actually took it upon himself to call and ask if i could take a break, he was told that wasn't possible and if I tried my grants would become loans instantly and there was nothing she could do other than recommend I ask my teachers for extensions; absolutely ********.Review fromJoshua H

1 starHorrifically bad school. Extremely poor communication, inconsistent quality of teachers, misleading information, failure to meet promises, poor handling of schedules, etc. Everything that you thought your previous schools have done wrong, I can guarantee VCAD has done it worse. This was a complete waste of my time and money, and I implore you to never even think of applying here. I'm 22.3k in *** ******* because of this school, and you probably will be too if you decide to apply. You'd be much better just watching tutorials on youtube than going to this school (you can trust me on this, because 90% of this whole course is just youtube videos that the teachers have to show us).
