    e transferred deposit in $2219.28 to ************************************************************************ on Feb. 23, 2024. *** @ Ancient Mariner Awnings promised that it took 8-10 days to complete the job. Three months later, after sending *** over 20 emails and text messages checking for project update, *** finally showed us the art work he finished: a copy and paste of our design on a ****** street image printed on A4 paper. We had to cancel our order and required *** to refund our deposit. He sent us his invoice in over $1,800 for cancellation, which was unacceptable for 15 minutes work he put into this. Besides he is the one who broke the contract by his endless delays in the job. There is no way we could continue the project with him, it's a waste of our time. Would you please kindly review this and let me know if there is anything else you need to file this complain?I do appreciate your help.Sincerely,***********************

    The comments made by the poster are completely untrue and defamatory. If the ************* posts them and they become visible to the public the Better Business Bureau can expect to receive a notice of Civil Claim that I will be filing in British Columbia Supreme Court.

    We contacted Ancient Mariner Awnings in January of 2023 in an attempt to have our awning replaced which had collapsed due to the snow storm last winter. We had given this company a cheque deposit in January of 2023 for the work to be completed. There was a verbal agreement that the work would be completed by the end of the month. It is now May 04, 2023 and I have come to find out that this company doesn't even hold a valid business license to perform business in 2023. Ken the owner is still answering the phone and I assume continues to collect deposits from other people for work he does not intend on completing. We have contacted him over 15 times via text over the course of 3 months and have received minimal responses from him with no time frame on when the work will be done. After doing some research on his company it appears this company has done this numerous times to many other people also as their stories line up with ours perfectly. ** ** ***** **** **** ******* ***** ** ** ********** ******** **** ****** ******* *** ********* ** ********** *** ***** *** **** ****** ******* ** *** ** ********** *** **** ** ******** *** when you ask him to refund your deposit he will decline as he will say they have already fabricated a custom awning which he will refuse to provide and images of. We would like our deposit back as other companies are able to complete this same job within 3 weeks.

    2 months ago, we paid a deposit to have an awning at our business replaced.
    There has been no work performed, and owner of company just gives excuses as to delay.
    Refuses to return our $2200 deposit.

    yes, the customer paid a deposit, but they were informed at the time because of our heavy work load that it would take us at least 4 weeks to process there order. As well our sales agreements are very clear that unless specified there is no guaranteed delivery date. If they required a guaranteed delivery date they should have asked for it. 

    Upon discussing this project with our installation team it was determined that we would have to dispatch a crane truck and take it down. This information was passed on to Mr. **** ***** operations manager.  He agreed. In the meantime the person who made this post started emailing us about a deposit return. Not knowing what to do our accountant cancelled the crane. We are still willing and able to completed this project.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    Despite this company promising to complete the job for which they  were  paid a $2200 deposit, they will not commit to an actual completion (or start) to the work.

    They have not responded to requests for a start date or a completion date. 

    I suppose we must now pursue this in small claims or ***.
