Northbridge Insurance/****** Insurance ************* uses predatory business practices to collect personal information and extort money from customers. My father purchased home ********************** from Zenith Insurance Company, now called Northbridge Insurance. The policy coverage was for October 25, 2023 to expire October 25, 2024. My father died on March 11, 2024. We canceled the policy on May 1, 2024, 7-months prior to it's expiration date. We did not receive a refund. Instead, we were charged for 3 additional months after the expiration date. Northbridge Insurance claims that they did not receive the cancellation that was held by Zenith Insurance Company. This company used the information from a deceased person's original policy that expired on October 25, 2024; and are trying to collect money for a 3-month extension on the same policy. Attached is (Moulder_ZenithInsurance_CollectionLetter.pdf) this is a copy of the original Zenith Insurance Company paid policy; and the collection letter from Northbridge Insurance.

      Business Response

      Date: 27/05/2025

      It is a resolution.

She replied as shown below on May 7, 2025 rejecting our explanation and resolution.

As I indicated below on May 15, 2025, neither Zenith nor her fathers broker were aware that he had passed away until our office received her complaint from your office.

Zenith nor her fathers insurance broker are unable to find any evidence that she contacted either in May 2024 to report his death.  As a result, his tenants policy auto-renewed on October 25, 2024 as we do not just let policies expire if they are eligible for renewal.

Zenith has written off the premium associated with that October 25, 2024 renewal and is offering Ms. ******* a refund of premium in the amount of $100.44 for premium previously paid and applicable for the period between the date she intended to notify Zenith of her fathers passing (May 1, 2024) and the expiration of the policy (October 25, 2024).

If she would like us to send the cheque to her, we would require an address.

If she does not want the refund (and it appears she does not) we can tell Zenith premium accounting to write it off as well.

      Yours truly,
