I initially met with Khosh in July 2021 to do back taxes after receiving notice **** ***. I provided a retainer for the work and after our initial meeting, I promptly provided Khosh all the required documentation. After that, I did not receive any update on the work or any invoice for over 3 months. I did not follow-up as Khosh said they were short staffed and I knew any contact would result in a fee/cost. I trusted being CRA they would follow normal/standard business practice with prompt billing and also let me know if/when the work they had done exceeded the retainer I provided. Then in November 2021, I received 3 invoices totally approx $14000 AND noting my account was past due but I never received any invoices prior to that. Had I received timely invoices I would have questioned the work&costs earlier. At that point and outstanding cost(s), Khosh were still not even done/completed with my PERSONAL tax returns. I met with Khosh and expressed my shock and disappointment - they agreed this was a communication error&fail on their part. We agreed on final payment to close out my account and get my tax returns filed with CRA. Khosh was clear, I was not happy and that no added work was needed or any additional payment required. Fast fwd to me getting confirmation from CRA that my returns were accepted and processed successfully. I emailed Khosh to let them know all was resolved. Khosh requested copies of the CRA docs. I went and made photocopies for them/their records. One month later I receive a new invoice for another $1400...they took it upon themselves (not authorized/approved by me) to review the CRA documents and charge me for that review. I called immediately upon receiving the invoice and emailed them directly. I did not hear back, so based on our last interaction (office) I assumed he knew what Khosh did was in violation to what we agreed to in their office. Not the case, another two months passed with NO communication again noting my account was past due.
