After doing my research and having a good experience with PNClearning in the past including getting other potential employee's / employers to use their services the have a double standard and confusing misleading FAQ vs reality. the follwing is copy and paste from their general FAQ - **************************************************** "How long do I have access to my course for? For individual courses, you will have access for 8 months (244 days). For bundles, it is at least 2 years (730 days). You can refer to the specific course/bundle pages for more complete information." does the above read to you like if you purchase a bundle you will need to check its expiry because its definitely less than 730 days? **** as a company we can now charge whatever we feel for access on a month-by-month basis? Me neither. It reads like fishy business practices and purposefully misleading information. I checked the **** before committing to a bundle which I knew would probably take me a year to write and work through. *** says my bundle expires after 1 year cause thats what it says in COURSE Description you know where you look for whats in the course, what materials are provided but also a expiry 365 less than advertised BOLDLY in our Courses PNCLearning FAQ's .. Nonsense. Give me access for the additional year or FULL refund.Business Response

Dear ******,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. We appreciate your past support and value your feedback.
We understand the confusion regarding course access duration. Our FAQ page does mention general access periods, but it also advises users to refer to the specific course or bundle pages for the most accurate details. In this case, the bundle you purchased explicitly states a 1-year access period on its course page.
Additionally, we want to clarify that we are not arbitrarily charging any amount for extensions. Instead, we offer a pro-rated monthly rate to extend access beyond the original duration, ensuring fairness to all students.
That said, we acknowledge your concerns and want to find a resolution. We will escalate your request internally and see what can be done regarding your access. Our team will follow up with you directly regarding the next steps.
We appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out.
Best regards,

Hi ******,
Our office received the above captioned complaint in letter form today on which your contact information was included.
As a fully remote and paperless organization, we're not able to mail any response letters or have access to a fax machine.
I hope you will accept this email response as that is the only option we have available to us:
PNC Learning is an accredited education provider with the Alberta Insurance Council (AIC) - the body responsible for regulating and licensing brokers in Alberta.
The complainant has claimed that "you need to be in the insurance field getting sponsored by a company before any of these courses would be able to benefit you at all". This - according to the regulations on licensing in Alberta - is simply not true.
As an approved education partner of the AIC, our Alberta courses does exactly what we claim it to do - it prepares you to pass the AIC licensing exams.
All students seeking to write the Alberta Level 1 exam with the AIC must receive a General Licensing Qualification Program (GLQP) certification from an approved education provider like PNC Learning. Contrary to the complainant's claims, that is essentially the only prerequisite to writing the licensing exam with the AIC.
**** ** *********** ** *** ***** ***************************************************************************** You can see clearly there at the top that the prerequisite to writing the licensing exam with the AIC is to receive a GLQP certification from an approved educator (such as PNC Learning). Here's the snippet:
As of January 1st, 2020, all students must attend classroom or web-based courses or purchase current educational materials from an approved General Level 1 Educator in order to be certified as having met the prerequisites to write the General Insurance Level 1 examination.
In order to qualify for a general insurance license in Alberta, you need to meet these 3 criteria (among others):
Demonstrate that you have met the education requirements (ie. pass the exam)
Be sponsored/employed with an insurance company
Pass a background check
Applicants need to meet these 3 criteria (among others as outlined in regulation) but there is no prescribed order in which they must be met.
To clarify, there is no requirement that someone be employed with an insurance company in order to take these courses or to take the licensing exam that PNC Learning is accredited by the regulator to train for.
When registering for the licensing exam with the AIC, the only requirement other than being an Alberta resident is to have a valid certification.
Once students have passed the licensing exam with the AIC, they would have been deemed to have met the education portion of their licensing requirements. Most of the 20,000+ users on our learning platform pass the exam first before applying for jobs.
If the complainant can share what they've read that led them to believe you need to be employed with a brokerage first before you can even take the courses or write the licensing exam, please share that with me so I can further clarify and help them resolve their misunderstanding of the licensing process and relevant regulations.
Thanks and hopefully this helps resolve the customer's concerns but if not, email is preferred for all further correspondence related to this matter.
Sincerely,
David

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because: As you can clearly see from their own submissions that even if I passed the exam. I would still require a sponsor to get into the field. I have checked and double checked that taking this “course” would not give me any opportunity to getting into the insurance field. This course is absolutely useless. If you happen to complete the course and pass the test that is it. You can not go further without a sponsor. It’s like taking a driving course and passing the exam but not being allowed to touch a vehicle without having a “sponsor”! Or taking an online first aid course, passing the “exam” and expecting to be come a doctor. Absolutely false advertising. **** ** ******* *** * ***** * **** ****. ********** *** **** ******** ** **** ****** ******* *********** ***** * ***** **** *** *** ******* They even block you from using the very course that you paid for?!!
