      HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, The staff member broke a piece of my jewelry while appraising it, didn't say anything, and handed it back like I wouldn't notice. when asked, they acted like they didn't understand. DO NOT GO HERE THE STAFF ARE CARELESS.

      I went to the *************** on 28 January, 2025 to offer several proof sets of gold coins/medals in their respective collector cases together with authenticity certificates. The first one I presented to the associate was a set 4 of ************* 1980 gold coins in their case and in their original sealed plastic capsules. The associate endeavoured to open one capsule with her fingernail and I asked her not to open it as they had never been removed before to prevent contamination. Shortly after she tried to open it with a metal tool, again I asked her not to, She persisted and broke the plastic casing,The second set was a ******* ********* set of four 1965 proof gold medals by Euronummus of Milan for Metalimport, in their original case with authenticity certificate. The assistant took the medals out of their case, handling them on their faces, rather than edge, and placed them roughly on the scale, even dropping one on top of another. Again I protested, she apologized, but continue to proceed with her inspection of the medals. I then decided not to offer the other items that I planned to offer as I was so upset with her unprofessional handling of the sets that had been maintained in essentially original condition. I spoke to the manager explaining that I was surprised that a company advertising dealing in "coins" as well as gold etc. would have staff that apparently did not understand how to handle such coins and medals. The assistant provided me with an itemized quote for purchase, but from my research it was significantly below my expectations, Afterwards I visited another dealer, also who is accredited with the BBB, and was offered a significantly more appropriate offer that I accepted. However, i wish to clarify, my complaint is not regarding the offer made, I appreciate that is the prerogative of any business, but my complaint is regard to the unprofessional handling of a client's property, which could possibly affect the value of the items.

      I first went to the West Broadway location in 2007. I was told they offered the best price for scrap gold in Vancouver. After being a customer for several years I found out that **** ********* ** ****** ****** ******** gave much higher prices for scrap gold. When I told the owner of ****** Gold, Tyler, he said that they would give me their premium price from then on. That happened for a few visits. and then I was told they could only match the price of **** *********. From then on I always had to keep reminding the staff of this promise. When I complained to Tyler about problems I had with a couple of their counter staff, he said I was no longer allowed to do business with them.       They advertise one price on their website, I went to their ocMississauga location and was told a much higher price. I called their head office, they never made good on it, no apologies nothing. I feel this was a bait and switch.
