The chief administrative officer is called the Executive Director, whose job is to regulate the securities industry for the protection of the investor, administer the Securities Act and assist in resolving complaints regarding securities firms and brokers.
The commission documents all complaints and comments. A complete list of contact numbers in particular departments can be obtained from the commission offices or by accessing its home site on the World Wide Web at: www.bcsc.ca. Also on the web site are various notices, news releases and brochures produced for the investor including: How to Spot a Scam Artist and How to Select a Broker. The web site also contains a search engine for the public to find out whether a particlar broker has ever been cited for disciplinary action.
