      Avoid Handy Appliances!! I booked Handy Appliances to repair a small dishwasher that had a cracked hose. I paid the initial approximately $135 diagnostic fee. The repair person didn't have a replacement hose in the truck, it had to be ordered and I waited a week for it to arrive. When the fellow was here diagnosing, I asked him how much it would be for the install and he very clearly said that I would only have to pay additionally for the part. The part was $79. But, I was subsequently charged the $79 for the part plus $148 for install labour. You are sent an email asking that you approve the charge, but when it says Total $227 plus tax, you can easily think that is the full total, especially since at the start I been told that the repair would be about that amount, so it looked right. It says in small print that that doesn't include the diagnostic fee. This is a warning to anyone considering using Handy. Do not listen to what the repair person tells you. While a nice guy who did good work, he does not override their small print. I assumed that he represented the company. The diagnostics took just minutes, and the repair less than half-hour. My total was closer to $400 including the diagnostic fee. I won't use Handy Appliances again.

      Prices a bit higher than competitors. **************** is 1/5. Bought a brand new dryer that they delivered and installed. From the first use the dryer did not auto turn off. It was faulty. The sales rep. never responded to my email questions regarding replacement and the service department refused to replace it. They did have technician come fix it but it took over a month, multiple visits and they offered no compensation or extended warranty. Not one person from the company reached out to see if everything was okay during or after the technician services calls. A month after all of this they are now calling leaving a message to see if they can come fix my appliance? Clearly they are mixing up customer files and this is concerning in itself. Buyer beware.
