    My husband and I booked a trip 'through the clouds' through ****** by Design. Ref CAN98204040 Because of the wild fires they had to take out the main event of the trip, viz. the spectacular scenerey around ******. I am a photographer and that is the reason we booked this trip. They refused to use the deposit we paid (@$2660) for a different trip that would have worked for us.This is not fair business practice. Either they should agree to book us on a different trip or they should refund our deposit.

    My wife and I just returned from our vacation with **************** (Booking No: ***********). On May 27, 2023, the VIA Rail arrived to ****** four hours late due to traffic on the railways which led to the cancellation of the ************** Hiking Tour (Confirmation # ******). I contacted the travel designer for my trip at ****************. She asked me if I had acquired travel insurance and because I had not she informed me that there was nothing she could do.I also contacted ****** Tours who notified me that because I had not contacted them more than 24 hours before the tour, they could not provide a refund. I had not even boarded the train 24 hours before the start time for this tour and had no idea that it would be delayed in its arrival.As the customer/client, I had no control over this situation and should not be held responsible and charged for a tour that my wife and I were unable to participate in. I was made aware that delays on the railways are not uncommon. Why did the travel designer schedule the tour only 2 and a half hours from the anticipated arrival time?I would appreciate your understanding and support with securing my refund of approximately $150.00 ** dollars for this canceled tour.Thank you,*************************

    I responded to ***** when were contacted about the missed tour. 

    1st June. 

     

    Hello *****,

    Thank you for your feedback and letting me know the situation that arose from the train being really delayed.

    I will refund you the cost of the missed tour because of the delay and have relayed to my team to make sure that only evening tours are booked due to things out of all our control like the train running late.  It normal circumstances yes travel insurance is what would cover any mishaps in travel for the whole journey and is recommended at the time of booking.  Oversite on timing in this case I am happy to refund this tour.
    I`m sorry for any inconvenience and hope you had a good rest of your trip.
    Please give ** a couple of days to return the funds to the credit card we charged.  Refund $140.80
