April 10 2024, I entered into a contract with Yoga Bar (******************************************************) for 2 year membership for $100 per month, which was prepaid for the two years. I have email confirmation from them that I would be reimbursed if the business closed. Quote "Hi ******** I just talked with the owner and he said he would refund you the balance if something were to happen to the business, although we do not foresee any events that would result in that."I showed up to class Tuesday April 15th for the 9am spin class and the sheriffs were there shutting the place down because the owner had aprox $80K in back rent. It has now been seven weeks since the gym closed, and unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be any indication of it reopening soon. I've tried reaching out through the company email, but at this point, it feels like things are just being dragged along without resolution.Per our agreement (I have a copy of the email for reference), I was assured that I would be reimbursed the remaining balance of my membership if the business were to close. Given the current circumstances and the lack of a clear timeline, Im no longer comfortable waiting indefinitely. I have asked to be sent the outstanding balance of $1,247.40 by the end of this week, but the owner ****** *******, will not agree and keeps stalling saying they will reopen and if they do not reopen he will be my nothing. I consider this deceit as the original agreement had him saying he would repay if anything happened. I am hoping you can help me get them to honor our original agreement.

The Yoga Bar Yaletown staff conducted heavy promotion of their upcoming 'sale membership passes. The team reminded me every time I attended class of the pass promotions and that my current pass was due to expire. As such, I purchased a 6-month unlimited membership at Yoga Bar (Yaletown) in mid-November. On 10th December I received notifications that all my upcoming classes have been cancelled. I emailed the studio and they suggested they had sent an email to explain that The Yoga Bar Yaletown had closed down. This email is said to have come from the ********** branch, they claimed surprise that the Yaletown location had closed down!We have had back and forth emails since December, without any of my questions being answered or request for refund been honoured.Despite an email where The Yoga Bar claimed that they would have a new soft opening on January 24th at a new location, there has been no further updates or emails received. - Copies of contract and email conversations can be provided

    - on December 3, 2024, i purchased a promotional pack for a monthly membership with a total value of $100. this monthly package allows me to schedule and attend 6 classes per month at their locations (yaletown and **********)- I was able to scheduled a sunday class on December 8, 2024 at their downtown location. - however, i went to attend a pre-scheduled class on December 15, 2024, i was not able to gain access to their downtown location and all my remaining 5 sessions were cancelled online. - i sent an email and inquired about this issue. - i was informed that their yaletown location was closed which was not on their website nor indicated anywhere when i purchased their monthly membership. - the reply in the email indicated that there will be a resolution to members which i have yet to hear back - i emailed on Jan 2, 2025 to request a follow up and i received no reply

On December 10, Yaletown Yoga Bar unexpectedly closed without any prior warning or notice to customers. I heard from a friend that they closed indefinitely and have still not gotten back to us about what we can do with the rest of the prepaid classes that have been bought (approx $400 of classes for me). Although the WhiteRock Yogabar location got back to me via email saying that they have forwarded my email to ********************, I still haven't heard any formal communication or anything back about a potential refund or what they will do with the rest of the classes. Yoga Bar in Yaletown also has not been picking up the phone number and have not been answering my IG messages either.

The yoga bar owner put out massive Black Friday deals and he was not paying his rent which resulted in all of us having our money stolen. I am requesting a full refund of $1738.00. I have proof of the owner not paying the rent, I have my receipt and their notice lying to the community claiming it was a misunderstanding. In reality Im actually owed $2100 because of an outstanding membership balance so Ill be putting that as the amount requested for refund. Ive tried many times to ask for my money back but I never receive responses, and only received one response with zero promise of a refund. I was also threatened when I attempted to help others get a refund by publicly showing the rent wasnt being paid on a public notice - this has been sent around because someone in the building goes to the yoga studio, must have gone upstairs and took a photo of the proof that the rent wasnt being paid.Three documents submitted 1. Proof of owner not paying rent 2. Communication by owner lying and saying its a misunderstanding when it wasnt. He wasnt paying the rent 3. My receipt of proof of purchase of an early Black Friday deal.

I purchased 25 yoga classes (class cards) on September 6, 2024 for $420 after tax. The expiry date was November 5, 2025. I have used 5 classes. The studio closed and cancelled all of my classes without any warning or notice. They are not responding to my messages and are not picking up their phone.

I was charged by Yoga Bar four months for monthly membership, 105CAD/month in September 2023, October 2023, December 2023 and January 2024, which they accepted was their mistake and agreed to do the refund month by month, 105CAD/month starting from February 2024, for four months. I got the first refund in February 2024, however in March I was told the refund couldn't go through the system and they stopped replying my inquiry (both text messages and emails) on the following three refunds.I just want to get the money they agreed to return to me back.

March 5, 2023 at 6pm PT I purchased 3 months of yoga. Total $472.50 Between March 5th and March 16th, 2023 I did not attend any classes because I was ill and then my dog was severely injured.March 16th, 2023 at 5am PT I emailed asking for a refund because my dog was injured, her recovery would be lengthy and that I would be unable to come to classes for the foreseeable future. The studio emailed back that there is a 10 day "breathing period" and that my request and that I was past that. There is nowhere on the receipt about a 10 day breathing period or their policy on refunds.I have repeatedly asked for a refund.

It is a policy that we do not offer refunds past the 10 day cool down period following receipt of purchase. We do have this information available on our website for viewing and it has been available to read since Nov 28. The client purchased months after this policy was implemented. Because the client was surpassed the date of refund I did offer to extend her purchased services passed the expiry to allow her to use it when she is able to, as well as offered to transfer the pass to another student.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Why would a consumer read a website when the information of the 10-day refund / aka "cooling period" policy was not:

    1) Communicated / verbalized to me when purchasing or verbalizing / indicating the whereabouts of the policy on the website, and/or

    2) Indicated on the receipt - which should have such information unless the vendor is utilizing trickery, and/or

    3) Indicated on their booking app

Yoga is supposed to be about transparency, safety, integrity and compassion. Furthermore, I am not in the business of being yoga sales person and especially after this experience I cannot in good faith recommend this business as a safe and healthy place for yogi's to go.

It is noteworthy to mention that the during the 10 day "cooling period", I did not attend ANY classes and I requested a refund 5 hours after midnight on the 11th day (Again, it was not communicated to me that there was only a 10 day refund policy - almost all professional businesses have a 14 day policy). I explained that I was sick with the flu and that my dog suffered an injury requiring hospitalization and post treatment.

Additionally, I utilized the yoga bar app and there is no mention of 10 days cooling period policy on any of their pricing options. I have screenshots.

$500 is a lot of money to me. I purchased it for a service that I soon realized I was unable to use - and hadn't used - and humbly requested a refund. The aftermath of my dog's surgery has required home care + I am being unhoused in the near future which is why I could not "pause" my membership since I do not know when I'll be recieving my notice to end tenancy. I communicated this to the Yoga Bar. I am extremely suprised and saddened by their corporate, discompassionate and disingenuous policy excuse  and I really could use that money right now.

    Sincerely,
