      On Sept. 09, 2022 I was heading to Nelson BC for a car show, I had previously, a week earlier had two tires mounted in the rear. They were older tires but with plenty of tread. The wheels in question took very little weight to balance. The previous day I was bleeding the brakes when a wheel cylinder went and spilled brake fluid on the rim. I cleaned it up as best I could and headed out the next day upon which I discovered a heavy vibration at hwy speed. I stopped checked the torque on all wheels, all was good. But I discovered a weight missing from the rear wheel in question ( the one that had brake fluid spilled on it which i believe weakend the glue bond of the weights) I stopped at Kal-Tire in Nakusp and was told the weights were in tact which they weren't ( I know that one was gone for sure) I was then told that the tire was seperated, which I couldn't see nor feel but, he's supposed to be the expert so I believed him and bought two new tires, when he balanced them he informed me that the rim was bent as well, which I know was not the case as I just had the rim balanced and it took hardly any weight at all now it has a ton of weight in two spots. The initial problem was not resolved, it still vibrated at hwy speeds and now I had another vibration at all speeds. I know for a fact my rim was not damaged before I got there as this is a show vehicle with very expensive custom rims, I had not even driven the vehicle since replacing the tires and I assisted with initial balancing and the rim was not bent at that time. I have since found the cause of the high speed vibration and fixed it, it turned out to be a u-joint problem but now I still have a vibration with the bent rim and $600 bill for two new tires that I now doubt I even needed. I am stuck with a ruined wheel and a vibration that wasn't there previously and the rim is irreplaceable as they are no longer produced, Not happy with Kal-Tire at all.
