    Our strata council hired Lakeview Door Service to complete a garage door replacement in August of 2024, and paid half of the total invoice as a deposit on September 27, 2024. This business delayed the job for 5 months and will not refund us the deposit amount. We have emailed, called, and made in person requests for a refund to no avail. We would like some assistance in recovering some or all of our deposit.

    Good Morning,

    My name is ****** ********.  I have attached a copy of the invoice and e transfer.

    Aug 2024:  Corner Stone received a quote for Lakeview Door.  In the quote they where told

    it could take up to 10 weeks and we required 50%.  

    Aug 13, 2024:  Invoice was sent for $1,140.00.

    Aug 23, 2024:  We lost our son.   He was one of our employees.  Our lives where turned upside down.

    Dec/Jan:  We received a call from ******************** that they will be canceling the door. ( Taking to long)

    They asked about a refund.  I told them that we normally do not give refunds, but that I would look into it.  (We are charge a restocking fee)

    Feb/Mar 2025:  ****, the owner of the unit showed up at are office, asking  me what was happening to the door.  I told him

    that someone on the council called and cancelled.  He said he did not know anything about this.  He would get back to us.

    March 2025:  We did not hear from **** for weeks.  He did call to cancel.    Asked about a refund.  I told him I would get back to him.

    April 14, 2025:   E transfer sent for $570.00.  That is 50% of the deposit.

    Cornerstone Strata would like to begin by acknowledging the challenging time you and your family are facing. The loss of a loved one is a profound experience, and it is not a hardship we would ever wish upon any member of our community.



    Upon reflection, we recognize that earlier and more transparent communication could have significantly contributed to clarifying the nature of the delay and allowing sufficient time for an appropriate resolution of this matter.



    At this time, however, we consider the matter to remain unresolved, as only a partial refund has been issued and a balance of $870 remains outstanding. We must also express that, beyond the financial aspect, the overall handling of this situation has not met our expectations in terms of communication and timely resolution. As such, we do not consider this issue to be resolved to our satisfaction.



    We remain open to further discussion and sincerely hope this matter can be brought to a prompt and equitable conclusion.

    To whom it may concern,

    The last time you sent a message I sent you the a copy of the payment. 

    The complaint was refunded approx 800. Are suppliers charge us restocking fees.  We told the complaint.

    We where told to cancel the order, we did.  Then the owner of the condo came back and told us to go ahead.  We then got a message to cancel the second time.   

    So we got charge again restocking.  We are not going to give back the full deposit. 

    What they recieved is more then far. 

    It was a non refundable deposit.

    This response does not meet our expectations. We were not made aware that the deposit was non-refundable and we were forced to cancel because of your delay and lack of communication.

    With that being said our strata will have no further dealings with your business and can not in good conscience recommend you to anyone in our community.
