Heritage Construction was our builder for a new home. They do not give me receipts for a cost plus build that I have continually asked for. They have deficiencies that they are not wanting to correct and have taken me to small claims court for monies that I have held back until deficiencies are repaired. They are untrustworthy and need to be called out for their actions

We have given this customer copy of his receipts, I sent pictures of each invoice on May 7/2023 and again on June 27/2023 and have copies of emails letting them know this was done. During our court proceedings, they described an invoice in detail and the only way he would know how to do this is if he saw the invoice, which means they have not only received the invoices but have viewed them. During the build of the home, they received itemized lists of every invoice with every billing. We also met with them in person on more than one occasion with the invoices/accounting but he never wanted to take the time to look at them or have them explained to him. We have addressed all of his deficiencies that were listed at the completion of his home. We were in the process of dealing with the concrete issues but every time we would work on it, the customer would not respond back, or delay in their responding, until the weather turned to cold to be able to address it. They wanted to bring out an engineer which really delayed this process. At this point, we could see that all of their delays was just a reason to not pay their final invoices so we put everything on hold and have taken them to small claims court. However in hopes that we could avoid a court case we reached out in June of 2023 to our customers letting them know we would be willing to fix their concrete issues if they would put the monies owed to us in trust, which would only be released upon their satisfaction of the job being done and happy with it. They chose not to go this route but to go to court. When we headed to court his list of deficiencies that were never mentioned before grew substantially. The whole start of this issue was mainly the kitchen ceiling (which was completed before they started the home warranty issues) which they still brought up in court even though it had been dealt with, stating that we delayed in doing this, even though he had been sent an email from our drywaller and us stating it would be best to wait till Spring to fix this which they acknowledge. (Story changed when we went to court) so the kitchen ceiling and the concrete at the front step and rear patio were the main issues. All their issues (including these two that were so important to them) were never mentioned until it was time to pay their final invoice, and it has mushroomed into a monstrous number of trivial garbage. As noted above we were willing to and going to fix the concrete issues but when it came to having to pay his final bill he would rather it stayed unfixed then to pay his bill. On November 10/2024 we received an email from these customers ***** ******** * ***** ******** ********** *** ** **** ****** *** *** ******* **** ******* ***** ** ********** ** **** ** ***** ****** ** ******** *** ****** *** ** **** *********** ** ******* ** ** ****** ****** We stand behind our workmanship, we are a top rated quality builder, which has a good standing not only in the Okanagan but also in our previous location of the lower mainland where we started our business. These comments posted in Heritage Construction's reply is an example of how they try to save their reputation by not telling the truth. Everything i mentioned in my post is true and Heritage only had to do the right thing by repairing faulty work but instead choose to create a bad relationship with a customer and not follow through. They have stolen materials as well as overcharge for the work. This company ought to be ashamed. Watch out !!
