Jan 31 ****, we arrived at the Logden Lodge, where we had reserved accommodations months ago, for 5 nights. Not a single person was on the premises. The access road/drive has a pretty good incline, and was solid ice. We could get up to what resembled a parking area, but then our vehicle began to slide backwards when we got out. I remarked, horizontally. We walked around the property looking at the situation. Solid ice everywhere. I grew up in this area and am very familiar with walking on ice; my partner is not. At our age, it was simply unsafe for us to walk around. In the absence of an attendant, we made the decision that we simply could not stay here, and proceeded to head into ******. On the way there, ******** called them again, and the owner/manager answered the phone. We explained the situation to him but was totally unapologetic. He explained he would transport us around from car to chalet 50 meters perhaps), and offered us crampons to wear so we could walk around. ** *** **** *** **** ** ** ************ ***********  To this he replied, well, what were you expecting man. I said, I have the reasonable expectation that my accommodations would other than climbing around on a glacier. He refused to accept this, and refused to refund our money. His code of business is terrible, further leaves him in a terrible position of liability. The property description online says nothing about icy roads and crampons etc. Please helps us resolve this conflict. Many thanks, in advance.
