AMJ Campbell Moved us recently. I was charged almost double of the original quote that I agreed to. They charged me for travel time 1 hour which was a 15 minute drive from their office to my house. They wanted to use my move as per their operations manager as a training move with two new guys. I said sure not a problem. They took more time due to this and I realized it, but I figured they knew this and would recognize this themselves, and of course they did not. The movers did a good job loading and unloading and had very minimal damage to my property.
However, apparently me as the paying customer is expected to pay for smoke breaks every hour for 15 minutes in the trucks. when you add it up over a 10 hour day that a lot of work that is not getting done that I am paying for.
At the end of the move when they were finished, the lead mover was going over the paper work with me and my wife and we both asked to know the final number as we were signing, and we were told the office would call you tomorrow to review the number and send you final invoice for payment. This never happened, then I got charged double what I was told on my credit with no invoice at all or phone call to review. The main office is ***** about the move and trying to blame it on us and refusing to take responsibility for their actions.

Thank you for taking the time to review us and we are sorry that you are not fully satisfied. We calculated your quote based on several items you told our sales associate would be handled by yourself before we arrived. Unfortunately, this was not completed, and extra time had to be taken by our staff to dismantle and re-assemble the pieces. Our quote was based on an hourly service that was communicated and signed by yourselves before the move and acknowledged and signed by yourselves at completion of the move. The total cost of the move was presented to you before we left your house and the required signatures were obtained before we ran your credit card approving the charge. We will continue to review this move with our staff on the importance of communication with our customers and as an example of why signed documentation is so important in this process.Review fromJoanne G

My husband and I had such a devastating experience with this company. A mover ***** several of our belongings, and after notifying our coordinator and leaving a bad ****** review, the president and managing partner started to ******** us via email. Mr. *** ******** and Ms. ****** ******* utilized the moving services of ***** *** ***** ****** and AMJ Campbell Winnipeg for their relocation to Vancouver, B.C. in late July, early August of 2023. All signed documentation pertaining to this move shows that all cartons, furniture and miscellaneous items that were inventoried and requested to be relocated by the consumer at the origin residence in Winnipeg arrived in Vancouver and delivered to the consumers new residence. The responsibility to ensure that all items have been delivered is with the consumer, a “check list” is provided by the mover to ensure all items are accounted for and any items not accounted for are noted on this document and signed by the consumer. There were no exceptions taken, in other words all inventoried items at origin arrived at the new residence in Vancouver.
The issue with the moving consumers is that a very serious criminal allegation of theft of jewelry was made by Ms. ******* on the completion of the move and she identified a suspect as an employee of AMJ Winnipeg.
Attached you will find a document prepared by ***** *** ***** ******, the provider of the transit coverage, that outlines the various terms and conditions of the coverages available, the moving consumer chose the recommended coverage “Cargo Protection.” On third page of this document you will note the “Carrier Liability Conditions,” the second paragraph down notes the following; “The following goods are excluded from cargo protection; keys, glasses, watches, jewelry, coins, stamps, documents, currency and precious stones or metals.” Under the “Terms and Conditions of Carriage, Personal Items,” section, it states, “In addition to personal items excluded from cargo protection (ie. jewelry), it is highly recommended that you also carry with you articles such as medications, and small personal electronic devices such as cell phones, laptops, tablets GPS, etc…The details of this coverage is also included with the actual moving contract signed between the carrier and the consumer, the ***** *** ***** Bill of Lading. This document was reviewed and given to the moving consumers at the time of the consultation process by their personal moving consultant *** ******.
On Aug. 4th, 2023 Ms. ******* wrote an email to *** ******, copy attached, in which Ms. ******* stated, “in general, everything went well,” however she wanted to advise *** of the alleged theft, she went on to state, “I understand high worth jewelry items are meant to be packed by us and I did pack my top high worth items prior to the move. There were a few other jewelry items that were packed by the movers” and she goes on to say that “two “strategically” selected gold chains are missing.” You will note on the “Cargo Protection” document that there are no distinctions made for high value jewelry or low value jewelry, nor are there distinctions made on the contract. What logical explanation would there be for such a distinction to be made by this consumer, especially when she identifies the alleged missing gold chains as, “strategically selected,” further on in her email she describes herself as “indescribably sad” at the experience, certainly these comments imply a significant value of either sentimentally or monetarily.
In this email of the 4th of August, the consumer asks *** what steps can be taken, “do you recommend calling the police?” *** responds, (copy attached) “unfortunately as explained in the home we do not cover jewelry,” *** goes on to inform Ms. ******* to call the police.
As previously mentioned this is a criminal allegation against an individual, the proper authorities to investigate any criminal activity are the police. According to Ms. ****** the incident was reported to the police, we will also point out that AMJ Winnipeg contacted the police as well on this issue, file # ********* and their response was that there was no evidence to support the allegation, Ms. ******* nor Mr. ******** witnessed the alleged theft, all that was provided to police was speculation and the police indicated the case had no witnesses and therefore was without merit. As to the serious nature of this complaint taken by AMJ Campbell and ***** *** *****, both companies conducted their own investigation, subjecting this employee to numerous questions of which the employee denied all allegations, attached you will find the response from ***** *** ***** ******’s Director of Agency Services and Procurement, ***** ******, “we agree that your packer was falsely accused.” AMJ Campbell’s investigation was similar to the police, there was no evidence that, first the jewelry existed and second there were no witnesses to any theft.
The issue at hand here is the use of social media by Mr. ******** and Ms. ******* as leverage to solicit compensation from ***** *** ***** and AMJ Campbell, after knowing all of the above these moving consumers still went on social media, and made false, untrue and malicious statements about AMJ Campbell with the sole intention of harming our reputation. This post was responded to, Mr. ******** and Ms. *******, did not like the response of the investigations or the post. Mr. ******** just recently indicated by email, that he had further intentions to publish allegations regarding this issue, “to get to the bottom of this and make it right”, he went on to say he wanted to “warn potential customers that jewelry theft is an unfortunate possibility of using AMJ” it was at this time, that Mr. ******** was cautioned of the definition of slander and libel, which Ms. ******* has referred to in her post to the Better Business Bureau as a threat.
AMJ Campbell is an Accredited member of the Better Business Bureau since 1981 with an A+ rating, we respectfully ask that this untrue, false and malicious post be taken down, there is no evidence of theft according to the police and the so called threat was an attempt to protect our brand from unscrupulous consumers such as Ms. ******* and Mr. ********.Review fromEnid B

1 starWe had great service when the movers packed our items. We had a long-distance move from *** to *****, and stored our items with them in ***. We were quoted $*K, and our cost ended up being $*K over quote. We purchased a house in ***** and gave AMJ our possession date 6 weeks prior to possession. They estimated a window of time 10 days AFTER our move!! We kept emailing to inquire as to when our items would arrive, and all we were told was that they could not say. Finally, after many inquiries, we were given a "possible" date the following Friday or Sat, and that we'd receive notification ***** hours in advance. When Friday came and we received no notification, we aggressively had to ask for verification and to track the items. We were finally told toward the end of the day Friday that our items would arrive the next morning, and they did. Our contact in *** was ***, and she was very passive about giving us any answers to our emails, always saying "I can't give you a date" when we'd ask when our items would be leaving ***. Very poor customer service. The guys unpacking were pretty good, worked hard, but would not unpack/reassemble mirrors and a coffee table that were PACKED BY AMJ! We had to pull them out of the boxes first!!, We were in a great deal of distress not knowing when our items would arrive, and it is inexcusable that when given 6 weeks notice, arrival wasn't sooner and tracking seemed to be nil. We also had to pay our complete bill BEFORE our items arrived. Our fire pit was damaged from packing tape removing the finish, and an outdoor table was scratched. Very poor and unprofessional customer service, *** * ***** *** ********* **** ******* *** * **** ******** *****Review fromLorraine K

I purchased a chair from ******* & it was shipped from AMJ Campbell (east st paul).
I got phone call from Erica (AMJ) who informed me that the parcel was ready for delivery.
She was professional, knowledgeable & helpful. Gave me the particulars and options available for delivery.
We agreed on delivery the following day. Later I received an email specifying the time frame then got an automatic phone call confirming the date & time frame. The day of delivery I received a phone call stating the truck was 10 minutes away.
The delivery men were very polite and helpful. The box was big & cumbersome so the guys removed the chair & very carefully carried it into my livingroom. Alas it was the wrong colour so I refused the order. The attitude of the guys was very positive & so took the chair back to the truck. No complaints or rolling of the eyes at the extra time spent. I informed ******* who wanted a photo of the item but the chair was gone. I called Erica who said she would take a picture for me & forward to ******** Again the attitude was pleasant & polite.
In closing, I just want to say to AMJ Campbell that their staff are professional and I hope they keep up the good work.AMJ Campbell Van Lines-Winnipeg
