On July 15th the company entered the backyard of our neighbor to dig out our shared well for repairs. There was heavy rainfall the same morning. The machine to dig in the backyard sank in between our houses when trying to enter the backyard and left deep ridges and destroyed the lawn. When I called the company they said that the ground was very wet and it was the only path to enter the yard. We knew there was going to be damage to the yard due to the nature of the project but a lot of damage could have been prevented by putting plywood prior to driving on the property. They quoted *******$ to come back repair the damage

As stated in the complaint, the ground conditions were not ideal due to heavy rainfall that day, however the priority was to repair the water well system that was supplying three homes. Due to the depth of the water lines, large excavation equipment is required. Also stated in the complaint "We knew there was going to be damage to the yard due to the nature of the project". Simply putting down plywood would not have been adequate to support the equipment in this situation - the machine is too heavy, and the ground was too soft. Again, our priority was to renew running water to the three homes - waiting for ground conditions to improve could have resulted in an additional 2-3 weeks without a functioning water supply. The home owner we dealt with understood that in order to access her yard to repair the line that there would be ruts left behind from the equipment, and agreed that access to water was more important. The cosmetic repairs to the yard from the machine access are not part of the water well repair scope, however we provided a cost to perform them at a later date.
