KC Window and Door were hired to replace five windows in our home. The work was started on July 18 and finished on July 20. On July 20 I noticed the foam insulation tank was leaking on my hardwood floor in the northside upstairs bedroom. A sizeable pile had accumulated. I mentioned it to the installer ** ****** and door who didn’t seem too concerned. I pointed out other spots as well. Upon our cleanup I noticed discoloration on my floor and on my dresser. I contacted KC Window and Door To discuss this and several other concerns. KC Window and Door dismissed all my issues and told me to reach out to ** ****** and door. He was a subcontractor and not his responsibility. It was between ** ****** and door and us to resolve. I have reached out to JD window and door on numerous occasions and have not received a single callback. >> In addition to this, there was an issue with one of the window screens. KC Window and Door said this was normal without even seeing the screen. >> A follow up email was sent to KC Window and Door Several weeks later to reiterate our issues. >> Once again his response was that this was not his problem. It was between us and his subcontractor * ******* *** ***** ** In regards to the screen issue, he told us to contact ******** products directly and they would be happy to take care of us. I reached out to ******** and they said they do not deal with the public in this manner. >> We are getting no resolution at all and feel a bill adjustment or refund would be in order.

I can get the screen portion of your complaint taken care of since ******** ******** does not want to take care of it directly. As for the expandable foam complaint, I will reach out to my installer again and notify him of your complaint.

    ** **** ** *** ******** *

I have responded to the ********* in regards to their complains, mainly about the Window screen's apparent defect. No pictures were supplied to us as proof at time of claim. ******** Products the manufacturer of the Windows requires photographic proof of defects in order for a warranty claim to be filed.  Once photographic proof is supplied, we will file a warranty claim. It's at ******** ******** discretion to get the screen mesh replaced if the warranty claim is valid. KC Window & Door has not and does not offer any warranty of any sorts of its own. It's all the manufacturer warranty.

With the other claimed issues, again no photographic proof was supplied. I have been forwarded the complaints to my installers which was sub-contracted. Sub-contractors are responsible for their own way of doing business. If they caused apparent damages it is up to them to resolve the issue. Aline ******* was given all their contact information. If she has a problem with the install, she should file a formal complaint against ** ****** ************* not KC Window & Door.
