    I am writing to you regarding the concerns that I had after conducting business with Parenteau’s Eavestroughing Inc. to have my soffits, fascia, eavestroughs and downspouts replaced in June of 2022 at ** ******** **** * **** ******** *** ******* ***** *** **** *********. The invoice states that there is a 2 year guarantee on all workmanship.

    At the time of the installation, I mentioned to the business owner that the configuration of the downspouts was different than what was previously on the house. (Previous to this I had never had any of the issues outlined below). Since the installation I have noticed several concerns with drainage: ice at the base of my front steps and in front of my garage, water pooling near the foundation, dripping between the eavestrough and the fascia, ice build-up at the downspouts, and water coming through the seams of the eavestroughs. * **** ** ********* ****** *** ****** ** * ******** ***** ** ******* ******* *********** ***** ** *********  In February of 2023 I tried to contact the business owner Gord to voice my concerns (left text message on Feb. 9, 2023 and voice message on Feb. 13, 2023). He did not return my calls. On March 10, 2023, my brother spoke to Gord who reported that he was recovering from back surgery and would address my concerns in March or April 2023 but I have never had any communication from him. I contacted him again on May, 29, 2023.

    My other concern with this business owner is the manner in which he treated me when the work was being completed. He pressured me into moving forward with the job even though he knew that my husband had recently passed away and I had expressed the desire to postpone the work until a later date. **** **** * ********** *** ***** *** *** ************* ** *** *********** ********** *** **** ****** ** *** ****** **** *** **** *** **** ** **** **** *** *** ***** ******** * **** **** ***** **** ** *** ***** *******  My hope is that these concerns can be dealt with in a timely and satisfactory manner. I also hope that this business owner will realize the stress that he has caused me not only emotionally but also in terms of the potential damages to my home because of the concerns related to his workmanship.

    The client was home at the time of the initial installation, Parenteau’s Eavestroughing discusses location of downspouts with the home owner prior to installation, Donna ***** agreed with the location of all downspouts at that time. Also upon completion, Parenteau’s Eavestroughing conducts a walk round of the work to ensure the client is satisfied. Again, no issues were raised by the client upon completion of the work.

     

    No damage to the stucco was caused by any staff of Parenteau’s Eavestroughing, it is our understanding that another party confirmed this was not a result of the work completed by Parenteau’s Eavestroughing.

     

    Donna Davis did have a family member contact Parenteau’s Eavestroughing on her behalf to facilitate the repair, all contact was answered. 

     

    To the best of our knowledge, a resolution to all issues was reached on September 7, 2023.

    I am rejecting this response because: I am rejecting this response because: this issue
    was not resolved on September 7, 2023.  The same issue is occurring right
    now. Ice continues to build up on my stucco.

    I disagree with the company’s assessment that they did not cause the stucco
    damage, as it was not damaged prior to their work.

    Insofar as my being home at the time of installation, this is not correct. It
    did not occur over one day. I was planning my husband’s funeral and was
    attending the funeral home with my niece during the days they were working at
    my home. I was not consulted regarding the initial placement of the downspouts,
    in fact once the work was completed I questioned their placement as it was not
    the same.

    Insofar as my not raising issues: I raised concerns regarding downspout
    placement and my garage door not functioning properly as a result of their
    work. I was told that I was a difficult customer, the worst they’ve had.

    I am concerned that more damage will occur to my home as a result of the
    quality of their work.
